Low Income Super Contribution has been saved - ACTU

Another part of the budget will bite the dust in the senate, with Clive Palmer announcing his party will oppose it. The Low Income Super Contribution was marked for the Abbott chopping block, and was a major contributor to some semblance of equality in the superannuation world between rich and poor contributors. We have some great news - the Low Income Super Contribution has been saved!

Over 14,000 of you signed on to ask politicians to protect the LISC payment. Because of your efforts Clive Palmer announced that his party will oppose Tony Abbott's attempts to get rid of it. With Palmer's votes added to Labor, the Greens, John Madigan and Nick Xenophon the LISC is now safe.

This means that over 3.6 million workers will have a more secure retirement. This is a big deal. more
