Abbott rules out gay marriage plebiscite on election day

Just a note from me and David to start with; Abbott can stick his bloody plebiscite right up his ass. If he can send our troops to war, surely parliament can make a decision such as this. Do your fuckin job Lieberals and represent the community. But I digress.....

So with the latest polling from Ipsos predicting a coalition wipe out, included in that polling was what a plebiscite would tell Abbott anyway, with 69% support for marriage equality.
The Fairfax-Ipsos poll, done Thursday to Saturday, found 69% supported legalising same-sex marriage, a rise of one point since June. Only 25% – unchanged – opposed it.

There was majority support in all age groups, although backing declined with age: among 18-24-year-olds, 88%; 25-39-year-olds, 76%; 40-54-year-olds, 70%; and 55 and older, 55%.

The poll reinforces the argument put strongly by some Liberals that the issue is electorally dangerous for the government and will reinforce Labor’s argument that Abbott is out of touch with voters and especially younger ones. more
There have been polls on top of polls on this. It's clear Australians support it. Why have a plebiscite to tell you the same fuckin thing FFS?

But Abbott doesn't even want it on election day. Seriously. He wants to have a separate polling day for the plebiscite after the election if he gets another term *coughs*
Mr Abbott said voters would have to wait until after the federal election to have their say on marriage equality after he ruled out holding a plebiscite or referendum on the same day as polling day.Read more
So this is his big marriage equality election pledge that we're all supposed to trust him on? Vote for me and some time after the election we'll have a plebiscite (trust me) but I'm not saying if I'll follow the plebiscite vote from the electorate.

Is this fuckwit for real?
