Lieberal knives out for Bronwyn - Choppergate

The sickening loyalty that Abbott holds for Bronwyn Bishop isn't shared by his fellow party members, particularly those in the NSW branch. Abbott may have thought he could make the sheeple believe that Bronwyn was the victim of the system but he hasn't fooled his party. They have put the blame fair and square at the feet of Bronwyn Bishop, and are already starting to knife her publicly. Lieberal blood letting is never pretty I'm told.
The anger at Mrs Bishop continues to burn inside the NSW Liberal Party and there is now a push to force her out of Parliament altogether.

"She's 74, she's a laughing stock with the public and she's about to discover that she has become persona non grata in the party," a Liberal senator said.

Mrs Bishop would come under increasing pressure to make sure she did not stand for re-election to Parliament, her critics in the party said. This would present an opportunity to put a strong candidate into the plum Liberal seat of Mackellar, on Sydney's northern beaches.

Another described the mood in the NSW Liberal Party in the wake of the disaster as "ABB: anyone but Bronwyn". Read more
And here we have this revoltingly sick whine by Abbott, oh the poor dear Bronwyn, paid a high price, bla bla bla...... Get out the violin..... bleeding hearts and all that.
Prime Minister Tony Abbott has all but declared Bronwyn Bishop's political career over, following her resignation from the Speakership in disgrace over her lavish use of taxpayer-funded travel perks.

Mr Abbott said Mrs Bishop had paid the highest price by losing the job she loved, and agreed he would also personally pay a price for the expenses scandal that has dominated the national agenda for the past three weeks.

"She's lost the position she loved and it's likely her career in the Parliament is substantially at an end," Mr Abbott told Adelaide Radio 5AA.

That's a high price for her to pay," he said.

Some Liberal MPs have privately told Fairfax Media Mrs Bishop should not recontest her blue ribbon seat of Mackellar which she has held since 1994. Read more
Well personally I think she'd be doing marvelously to get out of all this with just a political career in tatters and a Liberal booting out of her seat (she's held it since 1994). The reason being that if it was any one of us peasants who ripped off the Australian gov like that we'd likely end up with jail time.

Abbott's not getting out of this either. He handled this whole Choppergate thing disastrously. Disaster of biblical proportions. Bronwyn was his captains call in the first place, and he let Choppergate go on for three Lieberal destroying weeks. The Lieberal anger at Bronwyn will not be quarantined to her alone. Abbott is going to find his leadership under increasing Lieberal scrutiny after this. Again.

Not to mention all the others who stuck up for Bronwyn in parliament. Like precious Pyne, or Barnaby Joyce who praised her only hours before her forced resignation. Looks like Tone left Barnaby out of the loop again
