I dunno why he's been so disliked. Shorten appears to me to be a reasonable person with a sense of humour, and dare I say even genuine? Something very rare these days for a politician.
Simply that he's bought the Labor party back from the oblivion suffered under Murdoch's Abbott being elected says something about his character at the very least.
