This past Sunday evening former NSA contractor Edward Snowden sat down for an interview with German television network ARD. The interview has been intentionally blocked from the US public, with virtually no major broadcast news outlets covering this story. It's shaping up as a core issue; Medicare. The Lieberal candidate (centre of below picture) has supported a $5 co-payment to see a doctor signifying the end of bulk billing for working people. Obviously the Labor candidate isn't. It's that simple. Think the election there is next weekend isn't it? The Lieberals thought they'd win this seat easily. That was before 4 months of the Abbott gov.

With all the secrecy from the gov over this, here is a place where the boat arrivals are being kept track of. They say it will be updated as time goes by. As you can see, Abbott has failed to "Stop the boats!" and the gov isn't yelling "boats! boats!" anymore, as they did continuously before the election.
Demands are growing for the corporate sponsors of the Sochi Gulag Games to FFS say something in support of the LGBT in Russia. An open letter has been written to the ten biggest sponsors demanding like WTF are you lot doing? Can't you see what's going on?

You are sponsors of the Sochi Games. You have invested millions in this sponsorship. Many of you are committed
supporters of equality, extending protections and benefits to your LGBT employees. This is not only good for
business but it is also the right thing to do. You also understand that discrimination has an economic cost that harms
businesses and economies wherever it is found. Silence in the face of discrimination also carries reputational risks.
We come to you with one simple request: to use your voice to insist on changes that will make a difference
in the future.
•
Individually or collectively, condemn Russia’s anti-LGBT law;
•
Use your Olympics-related marketing and advertising — both domestically and internationally —
to promote equality during the weeks leading up to and during the Games themselves;
•
Ask the IOC to create a body to monitor serious Olympics-related human rights abuses in host
countries as they occur; and
•
Task the IOC with ensuring future Olympic host countries honor their commitments to upholding the Olympic
Charter, including Principle 6 which forbids discrimination of any kind. more
I said from the very beginning, early last year when Russia bought in these anti-gay laws, that if Russia thinks they can be an island separate from the rest of the world and at the same time pull off the Olympic games, they're fuckin dreaming. This is shaping up to be one of the worst games in history. Not only for the self respect of Russia, but for the corporate sponsors who thought they could get away with saying nothing and raking in the money.
Message to the lot of them: we're here and we're queer, and we're not fuckin going anywhere. Don't underestimate our outrage at what you're doing.

Spewed my guts up middle of last night. Stomach was hurting a lot/indigestion, and just couldn't keep it down. Have been feeling generally unwell now for about a week. Still have the head cold. Aching a lot all over. Spending a lot of time lying in bed as I've felt so crappy. Been going to bed about 8 some nights as I can't keep my eyes open anymore. May go and see the doctor this week and ask for some more anti-nausea pills. Perhaps the head cold has evolved into a spewing sleeping disease?
That five kilos I lost the other month hasn't come back on either. Starting to look rather permanent. I'm not sure if that's a good thing or not. I've been 68 kilos for decades (apart from the Great Kidney Collapse when the fluid going into my body had me up to 75 kilos, and dialysis had me down to only 58kilos) so it is a bit strange to suddenly lose 5 kilos and stay there. Being only 63 kilos doesn't leave much of a safety margin if I get really sick.

Wow. This is really freaky. This is at the Carlisle Hotel in Sydney. They've been having some weird ghost happenings of late. The first one in the pub is positively creepy, and check out the bottles flying off the shelves on their own in the second. This is all off the CCTV footage.

The case that sparked the outrage last Mardi Gras 2013, with a small man Jamie Jackson being hurled to the ground on his head and arrested for tickling someone, has had a welcome turn of events. All charges against him have been dropped.
NSW Police has dropped all charges against Jamie Jackson almost a year after he was charged with assaulting police officers during the 2013 Mardi Gras parade night.
Jackson had been charged with assaulting police, resisting arrest and using offensive language in a public place following an incident with police on the evening of Saturday, March 2.
During a court hearing last September, police had alleged Jackson was detained for kicking a female Mardi Gras-goer and maintained that the Cronulla resident had punched and kicked at several officers.
Turning to Facebook last Friday evening after the charges were officially withdrawn, Jackson said it had been a long wait for the day to come.
“It’s about time my ridiculous charges from mardigras [sic] were dropped ~served justice~,” he wrote in a post.
Jackson’s solicitor Chris Murphy told the Star Observer that his client was now exploring his options, including suing the police for damages.
“The case is still a little raw to talk about,” Murphy said. more
I dunno where the case may go from here, but if I was Jamie I'd now be going after the police and suing the fuck out of them. If I were the cops involved right now, I'd be shitting myself. One of them was also involved only shortly after with the arrest of Bryn Hutchinson who had his charges thrown out by the magistrate. Always interesting to see justice done in a court, after the cops swear black and blue that they were in the right.

Yesterday I went with David to his court hearing (well that's what it was supposed to be). He had a long chat with the Legal Aid people, who said they could advise him but not represent him. Well that was fine as David's ex of 15 years was a lawyer so he has a pretty good idea of it all. So we go into court and eventually the magistrate asks for people without representation and he goes up.
Turns out the cops have totally fucked up the paperwork (why am I not surprised?). Yesterday was supposed to be a hearing, that's what was said last time. But nobody had gotten the brief from the cops. Not Legal Aid, and nothing came here. So the whole thing was fucked. The magistrate asked the police prosecutor for David to be given the brief. The prosecutor first thinks there's no brief, then finds it, and says there is. It's passed to David.
There are enquiries as to his current address. The cops have even that wrong. Fucks sake he's been living here a while and a year at Surry Hills with his ex. The address the police had was even older than that.
So the whole thing was a complete waste of time. David entered another plea of not guilty and another date was made for a hearing. In May. That was it.
Remember, the cops are using public money for this bullshit.
