Having gay thoughts is a product of evolution - study

How interesting. A recent study has indicated that having gay thoughts is part of evolution, in the need for teamwork and allies going right back to the dawn of humanity. In fact it's seen as a disadvantage to have thoughts exclusively of the opposite sex.
Because progesterone, which is produced by both men and women, is associated with affiliation, the researchers concluded that homosexual thoughts can go hand in hand with the need to forge same-sex alliances, which can be traced back to the teamwork of the earliest hunter-gatherers.

Dr Diana Fleischman, the report’s author, said: “In the paper we talk about why homosexuality persists, and we do explain why.

"From an evolutionary perspective we tend to think of sexual behaviour as a means to an end for reproduction.

"However, because sexual behaviour is intimate and pleasurable, it is also used in many species, including non-human primates, to help form and maintain social bonds. We can all see this in romantic couples who bond by engaging in sexual behaviour even when reproduction is not possible.

“Having some degree of attraction to the opposite sex is a type of adaptive behaviour, and in any adaptive behaviour you will see extremes of the spectrum, hence some people will only be attracted to members of the same sex.

“But the research suggests that having exclusively heterosexual thoughts is a disadvantage – it’s better to be a little bit attracted to the opposite sex.” more
So how's that then. Turns out the ones going against the natural law are the bible bashing exclusively hetro christians :)

Exhausted

Have been totally utterly exhausted today. Couldn't wake up this morning. I guess a week of no sleep, stressing out and partial migraines have taken their toll. Psychology explains it like a rubber band that's been stretched tight for a long time and then suddenly let go.

We're still laughing about the imaginary balcony psycho reckoned we had yesterday in court. Fuckin hell man, if you could've seen the look on their faces when I said "We don't have a balcony". Brilliant :)

Other thing is they'd have not been able to tell my brother before he gave his testimony, so I'm sure the prosecution will have asked about what happened on this alleged balcony. Almost wish I had of stayed now.

Anyway we'll find out in due course what the outcome was. Suppose I could email the local cop shop to find out quicker, but can't be bothered. Honestly don't care WTF happens to psycho now, we've done our bit for justice.

Brandis canned from the arts portfolio by Turnbull :)

Brandis, another fuckwit, has had Turnbull take the Arts off him. There will be few tears shed from the Arts world, with many artists contributing to the protest facebook page The George Brandis Live Art Experience. A very tasteful site indeed.

John Oliver says goodbye to Abbott - Australia

Abbott must have been hilarious to watch offshore. If only it was as funny for us watching at home :s

Team Abbott loses another member - Kevin Andrews dumped from defence :)

Andrews is another dopey fuckwit hanger on from the Howard years. I'll always remember Andrews for his maniacal fuckup in the TERROR!© arrest of Dr Mohamed Haneef, an Indian born doctor. Pictured in the statutory orange jump suit in the back of a prison van.

Andrews went on national telly without the courts saying he "reasonably suspected" Haneef to be a terrorist. Turned out Andrews was completely wrong and had way overstepped the legal mark.

Dr Mohamed Haneef, an Indian citizen, was working at a hospital on Australia's Gold Coast when he was arrested on 2 July 2007. He was held for several days before being charged with giving "reckless support" to terrorism.

The charges against Dr Haneef were eventually dropped due to flawed evidence which linked him to the suspects involved in failed attacks in London and Glasgow on 30 June 2007. Dr Haneef is the cousin of Sabeel Ahmed - 1 of 3 people charged in the UK over the failed attacks. As the criminal case against Dr Haneef collapsed (the chief prosecutor reviewed the case and said a mistake had been made), Kevin Andrews, the Immigration Minister, cancelled his visa and kept him detained under Australian immigration laws.

Andrews revoked Dr Haneef's visa under s501 of the Migration Act 1958, stating that Dr Haneef had failed the 'character test' referred to under the section. It states that a person does not pass the character test if a person has had an association with somebody who has been involved in criminal conduct. The Minister stated that there was an 'association' between Dr Haneef and his cousins (one of which was Sabeel Ahmed). Dr Haneef appealed the decision to the Federal Court, which was overturned in his favor on 21 August 2007.

On appeal, Justice Spender held that the Minister had misconstrued the provisions of the character test and therefore failed to apply it correctly. Relying on precedent, Spender J concluded that an association by way of family ties is insufficient to constitute an 'association' within the meaning of the Act. Such an interpretation would permit a cancellation of any visa regardless of how innocent the association happened to be. Spender J stated that an 'association' must adversely reflect on the character of a visa holder. In other words, the association must go beyond a familial relationship. In Dr Haneef's case, it was not established that the association was anything more than familial. more
So that's four Team Abbott fuckwits gone so far from the front bench; Bronwyn Bishop. Abbott himself, SSJoe, and now Kevin bloody Andrews. Hip hip hooray!

Here's Andrews chucking a sook at being dumped, warning Turnbull not to ignore the far right lunatics of Team Abbott as they are part of the Lieberal "broad church". Whaaaaaaaaaaa..............

Will never have to see psycho nephew and brother again - Court testimony done :)

My court testimony is over, and I will never have to see either my asshole brother or his psycho son (my nephew) ever again in my life. I have left the court after my testimony whilst the defence carries on and interviews brother and nephew. David and I could have stayed of course, but I didn't want to go through the anger of sitting there and watching both my brother and nephew lie in court.

David went with me to court for support. His appraisal was that I was very nervous at the start but got much better on the way through, or when challenged by the defence lawyer. It was then that the lies were put forth which I disagreed with.

According to my brother and nephew:
  • David was standing between the front door and them stopping them from leaving, with a sword in his hand, spitting on them, yelling at them, and lunging at them :s *WTF?*
  • According to them David and I had had a massive argument earlier in which David spat on me :s *WTF?*
  • According to them David and my brother had gone out to smoke on the balcony, where I assume David had made a pass at him :s *Good grief*
  • That the eye damage wasn't as bad as the doctor said so there was no stomping *sigh*
  • and that I had rung psycho nephew and told him his sex life was fucked because now he had "AIDS" *far out*
All complete fabrications. I followed the advice I'd been given and remained calm and not angry.
  • I stated where David was and what happened; that he wasn't at all standing between them and the front door, that he had no sword in his hand, that he didn't spit at anyone ("how long do you think he'd keep a nursing licence if he went around spitting on people?"), was yelling out of frustration that they wouldn't leave, and did not lunge at anyone.
  • That David and I had an argument on the night about money, but that was because of the year we'd just experienced and we'd had disagreements before like that, so what? Oh, and he didn't spit on me either (he's never spit on anyone).
  • The balcony thing went like this: Lawyer: "Isn't it true David and Kevin went out on the balcony to smoke?"  Me: "What balcony is that?"  Lawyer: "The balcony at your place"  Me: "We don't have a balcony, we live in a semi-detached house. Everyone smokes inside anyway" *the sound of a lead balloon dropping*
  • That the eye damage was caused by the punching not the stomping; David had fallen to the floor with the damaged eye to the carpet and was stomped on the other side of the head. Even if there was no eye damage from the stomping what does that matter? The stomping itself took it to a whole new level.
  • That I hadn't told psycho nephew that his sex life was fucked because now he had AIDS; that even if I had I'd have used the term "HIV" not "AIDS", big difference.
The police will let us know in due course what the outcome of today was after their lying testimony.

SSJoe's gonna quit parliament! - Hooray!!!!

Smokin Sloppy Joe is resigning from parliament! Oh joy of fuckin joys! Another scalp to hold high! Good riddance fat smoking slob.

He was another one not up for the job. Fuckin hopeless he is. Couldn't balance his own budget without taxpayers paying off his Canberra house at $270 a night for the privelige of having him in parliament. Now he's quitting!
Axed Treasurer Joe Hockey will quit politics amid speculation he will be offered a plum diplomatic post within weeks.

In a statement issued on Sunday afternoon, Mr Hockey, who will be replaced as Treasurer by Social Services Minister Scott Morrison, announced he was retiring from Parliament after nearly two decades.

"I advised the Prime Minister that I did not wish to continue as a minister in the government and that it is my intention to resign from the House of Representatives," he said.

"I will have more to say in due course, but for the sake of my young family - to whom I owe so much - I have decided to bring my parliamentary career to a close."

It is not uncommon for former senior ministers to be appointed ambassadors in key posts such as Washington, London or European capitals. more
Was he pushed? Offer of a cushy overseas diplomats job overseas dangled in front of him?

Perhaps now all Australians will be able to turn on the telly, assured in the knowledge that their federal treasurer wasn't going to question if the poor had cars. Condescending patronising prick.

Another of Team Abbott bites the dust. Will he smash a marble table and dance half naked as well on the way out?

Abbott party vandalised PM's office after Libspill

Oh FFS. Is their no end to this man's immaturity and petulant juvenile-ness? The man has absolutely no shame. Showing his true colours now. He was never ever fit to gain the office of prime minister of Australia. His departure has been befitting of a teenager throwing a tantrum, not a leader in high office. How old is he in the head, seriously? This is like something out of a 16 year old's diary.
The former Prime Minister reportedly went straight to the pub with his loyal staffers after losing the Liberal leadership to Malcolm Turnbull, celebrating his freedom with a wild night of partying.

According to the Sunday Telegraph, Mr Abbott even danced with his shirt off, although one witness said it was a short-lived manoeuvrer, that “it came off, but it was back on pretty quickly”.

A marble coffee table in the PM’s suite was apparently smashed during the wild night and staffers even took souvenir shards.

A fellow partygoer, Assistant Minister for Infrastructure Jamie Briggs, appeared the next morning in a wheelchair, although he insists he was injured during a morning jog. more
So who trashed the marble table? You'd expect charges to be laid if it was me or you. Willful vandalism of the prime ministers offices.

Living standards for poorest 4.5% to decline next 10yrs - Abbott's welfare changes

With the mining boom over and Team Abbott fucking up the economy over the last two years, things are looking bleak for the projected outlook for Australia's next ten years. It's looking the worst though for the poorest Australians who rely on certain types of welfare to get by, with their meager living standards actually falling by 4.5% over that time.

Why? Because of the demonisation by Team Abbott of anyone on welfare, who in the last two budgets have succeeded in making cuts to some areas of welfare payments despite all the opposition.
But just staying flat would be great for the poorer households. Those in the second-poorest 20% of households are expected to see their standard of living fall by 1.3%, while the poorest can expect a 4.5% decline over the next 10 years.

The big drivers of the difference are lower economic growth and weaker wage growth over the next 10 years than was experienced from 2004 and, crucially, the changes to welfare benefits in the 2014 and 2015 budgets.

Among these changes were “the removal of some welfare payments, reductions in other payments, and changes to indexation arrangements that reduce some payment increases over time”. more
Such is the damage left by two years of Abbott. I can't imagine Turnbull doing anything about it either; he's reintroducing the cut to the dole bill to try to make people wait 4 weeks to get a cent.

Nutbags go bananas at Doritos for supporting the LGBT - US

I don't eat Doritos hardly at all, being as they're processed food full of salt and fat and not exactly good for you. However they've come out with a Rainbow Doritos in support of the LGBT (think it's just in the US).

Some christians have really gone beserk about it over there. This one in particular, a Bethany Blankely, who obviously knows nothing about bottoming, has come out with a truly disgusting piece called "Doritos and anal sex: the new normal".
In partnership with It Gets Better, Doritos launched “Rainbows,” an LGBTQ-friendly chip available for a minimum $10 donation. The limited-edition version of its Cool Ranch-flavored tortilla chips, includes green, blue, purple, red, and orange chips. And its tagline reads, “There’s nothing BOLDER than being yourself.”

Doritos states its company: “supports the bold lives our fans lead—all of them. Each bag brings rainbow-colored chips inside and an inspiring quote on the outside.”

Ironically, Doritos has taken feces and anal sex to a whole new level– making it taste good. Left out in nearly all discussions about homosexuality is the reality that anal sex often infects people with E. coli bacterial infections, spreads sexually transmitted diseases, and can cause anal cavity bleeding and rupturing. Homosexual acts in part, involve one man inserting his sexual organ into another man’s rectum, which contains and emits human excrement.

What is bold and inspiring about having sex with excrement? Read more
Honestly, the woman is sick. Why the fixation she has on anal sex? Women like it too you know. But she seems so ignorant about it. Hasn't she got anything else to do than concern herself with such dramatic innuendo?

BTW I could go into the danger of sex with a vagina around period time, but I won't..... I'll just leave it enough with the background red on this post :)

Touche bitch.

7% swing away from Lieberals in Canning by election

They were facing a 10% swing, so I guess I agree with Shorten that it took the beheading of Team Abbott to limit that to about 7%. I dunno what exactly that would mean federally if there was a swing across the nation to that extent but it wouldn't be good for the Lieberals.

The question then is, although Team Abbott's beheading is welcome, has it so poisoned the Lieberal name that a Turnbull takeover of Team Abbott won't be enough to turn the coming federal election to the Lieberals?
Liberal candidate Andrew Hastie has won the Canning by-election, retaining the West Australian seat for the Liberal Party after Malcolm Turnbull’s prime ministerial coup helped defuse voter dissatisfaction with the Coalition Government.

But at the end of one of the most dramatic weeks in Australian political history, voters sent a warning to Mr Turnbull, with the ALP recording a swing of almost 7 per cent.

Opposition Leader Bill Shorten said the government sacrificed a PM to hold onto the seat.

With 52 of 56 polling places returned, Mr Hastie held 54.95 per cent of the two-party preferred vote to Labor’s Matt Keogh on 45.05 per cent. more

Court tomorrow - psycho nephew who bashed David

It's been a long time coming but finally tomorrow is the day for my witness testimony at court. I am the main witness into my psycho nephew's bashing and head stomping of David on new years in the hallway of our home.

At the moment I'm glad it's finally come as I want to get it over with and done. This last week however has been hellish for my head. Have had huge trouble sleeping, often not being able to fall asleep until 2 or 3am. Been getting up, taking Panadol, having something light to eat. Grumbling around the lounge room pissed off.  Have been having a lot of nerves, particularly in the mornings been physically shaking. Nightmares about my older brother when I finally do fall asleep.

Have also been getting the onset of migraines but only very mild migraine pain. I used to get them severely as a teenager but seemed to either grow out of them or deal with whatever was causing them in my head. These days I may get the onset of symptoms maybe once in a year and a very mild pain following. The symptoms as such are mainly my vision being very blurred sort of, hard to explain, and feeling nauseous. A couple of Panadol and a good lie down usually settles things. This week however it's come in a cluster, almost every day it's been happening. Just hoping I'm OK tomorrow.

The last court date ran out of time for my witness testimony, hence another three month delay. I expect my older brother (father of psycho) will have to fly over from hickville New Zealand to provide his testimony too.

It became apparent last time during negotiations to try and reach an agreement without entering court, that the stomping on David's head was a clear issue of contention. They'd agree psycho to plead guilty if we left the stomping out of the police report and David and I's testimony. Completely unacceptable for both of us, so the case went ahead into court. To me it was a lie by omission to do that and as I've had this fuckin memory playing over and over in my head since new years I certainly wasn't going to let psycho off the hook like that, be he my nutty nephew or not. The stomping was the worst thing about it, sending the whole assault to a new level.

As I've said, I still remember what happened in that hallway like it was yesterday. Such moments of horror and trauma tend to stay in one's head like that.

What's more I've had to deal with it pretty much on my own so far. My psychologist, the professional that he is, has said he can't help me until after my testimony as the defence would consider the intervention as "contaminating the witness". So because psycho hasn't been man enough to stand up, admit his mistake and express remorse for it to the court, has instead lied and made excuses to defend himself against (according to him) lesser actions than what he actually did, David and I have had to deal with this since new years. For both of us the psychological impacts of having to relive the event at each court date have been profound.

Presently I'm feeling much more calm today than previously. It's the lead up to it that's been so hard for me this time. Anxiety, severe depression at times, sadness, loss, all rolled into one. Yet today the anger is returning, the rage at what they did and how much they hurt both of us. No apologies provided by them. No remorse expressed. Just lies and excuses.

I will of course post about what happened after the court tomorrow.

Abbott's last hoorah piss up at Kirribilli House with his old school mates

Update: Labor is demanding to know who paid and why Kirribilli house was used.

As usual for Abbott it was entirely inappropriate if community expectations were considered.

First, look at this short video, widely published in the media as Abbott leaving Kirribilli for the last time:

Sounds very convincing doesn't it. But notice his weasel words. He says he's leaving "for the last time as residents".

In fact Abbott came back that very night (according to him not as a resident) for a pre-arranged piss up with his old school mates.
But just two hours later Mr Abbott was back, if not as a resident then as a very familiar guest, welcoming more than 50 St Ignatius old boys for their 40th reunion.

The class of 1975 arrived at the prime ministerial pad in two bus loads, ferried from a North Sydney pub where they had been wetting their whistles before the main event.

Mr Abbott greeted every one of the "Old Ignatians" at the door of Kirribilli House, beaming as he shook hands, patted backs and bear hugged his old school pals.

"How are you, mate," Mr Abbott said jubilantly and repeatedly.
Raucous laughter drifted from the house as Mr Abbott lingered at the front door until all his guests had arrived. more
My question is, if he wasn't a resident then who invited him in to have said piss up, pre-arranged or not? Does that mean any other Australian not a resident of Kirribilli House can pre-arrange to have a party there when the place is vacant?

Of course not, so why is it OK for fuckin beheaded Abbott? How much tax payer funded wine and alcohol went down the throats of his party goers? How much food?  Who paid for the clean up afterwards? I can't imagine Abbott and Marge doing it.

Surely he could have arranged another venue. He had days to do it. I'm sure many places in Sydney would have catered to such a function for an ex Australian prime minister.  It's not as if he's short of money. Even if he retires from politics he'll still be getting a tax payer funded $300,000 a year pension.

But no, right to the bitter end he had to charge it to the taxpayer. Not really telling them so, just sneakily weasel wordedly going about it like it was all OK. Like he deserved it. Entitled to it. Outrageous.

Twisting the knife - Team Abbott's beheading :)

So much "electronic graffiti", so many opportunities to twist the knife on the glorious beheading of Team Abbott, denying him of a massive ex prime ministers pension by just 4 days.

Will the beheaded Team Abbott continue on under new smick glorious leader Malcolm Turnbull? Will Turnbull continue to be just a deal making replacement head for Team Abbott, or will Team Abbott run amok inside the Canberra Lieberals like a headless chook (not much difference than before the beheading actually)?

Meanwhile the bitter and twisted Team Leader Abbott is leading the way for whatever pissed off disaffected Team Abbott members want to do for revenge; not bothering to show up for parliament, leaking juicy Lieberal  inner machinations to media mates, and generally being pissed off from the peanut gallery nose bleed section of the back bench.

1.5million households survive on $2per person per day - US

Look what Reaganomis did to the people of the US. Look what he did to the "American dream". By bringing in a two year limit for welfare, one and a half million households over there subsist on only $2 per person per day. This is the end result of the demonisation of those unfortunate enough to have to rely on welfare to get by.
Extreme destitution—families with virtually no cash at all—came about because of “welfare’s virtual extinction,” brought about because of plans instigated and implemented by Ronald Reagan and Bill Clinton. Reagan talked about the welfare queens, which irked many Americans into believing that such people were numerous, though he made no mention of corporate malfeasance that is much more prevalent. Clinton’s plan to “end welfare as we know it” became the nail in the coffin because it resulted in a two-year limit on welfare, and then you’re out—you must go to work. Those at the bottom continued to receive government support (if they were aware that other programs existed), but the form was no longer cash but the Substitute Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), a credit card, loaded each month with money that could only be spent on food.

Recording the activities of a half a dozen families in several different geographical locations in the country, Edin and Shaefer show the tactics those at the bottom must employ in order to pay for everything but food, i.e., their other bills: housing (generally subsidized), the electric bill, their cell phone bill (a must for job searches) and anything else that requires cash: twobucksadaychildren’s clothing that usually isn’t available at the Salvation Army (underwear, socks), school supplies or an occasional treat for their children. These tactics are necessary because there are NO jobs available for many of these people (especially in areas of Appalachia or the deep South) or they have had no success getting a job (because of their shabby clothing, missing teeth or any number of other traits that result in their not being hired). And if they are fortunate enough to get that job, they may not be able to hold it very long. They probably have transportation problems, getting to the workplace; their hours are often changed, at the whim of the boss they work for; they have no vacation time or paid leave for health issues. more
It's significant that this has been the rhetoric of Team Abbott in Australia, trying to cut the dole from it's already punishing low rate, and unsuccessfully pensions through a different indexation method. Asserting that many on welfare are bludgers who don't want to work, etc. Anyone that thinks that should try living on welfare then.

There's also the very worrying "trials" currently underway for an Australian welfare card that excludes the holder from buying certain things; like alcohol or whatever else the gov decides is wrong.

There's also the Basics Card which is already restricting about 20,000 of Australians from buying certain things:
