We're both sick as anything today. David has the runs and periodically chained to the throne, and my flu thing has been much worse the last couple of days. We were going to visit a good friend today but had to cancel.
With me the yellow slime has gone down into my lungs, pretty sore and coughing a lot. It's making my back hurt as well. I feel like I've been hit by a bus or something. Everything aching. Been in bed all morning.
Cats seem a touch concerned. Both of them stayed in the bedroom with both of us all morning. I could have stayed in bed all day but if I'm not sleeping it's pretty miserable just lying there feeling miserable.

Duggar interview - Josh isn't a paedophile & god forgives him :s
*Update: The Duggars’ Fox News Interview Was an Unholy Disaster
Can't find the whole interview (it's not viewable here in Australia on YouTube at the moment) but 7 minutes was about as much Duggar bullshit that I could take anyway.
Firstly, as I've mentioned in a previous post, Australia doesn't have a statute of limitations on child abuse as the state in the US does where the Duggars live. Of only 3 years. That almost criminal in itself. But my point is that simple geography means that the Duggars get off being charged for hiding a child molestation crime of 4 of their daughters by Josh. If it had happened in Australia the Duggar parents would be so charged. FFS Josh was 15 when he molested the 5 year old sister. The parents took 16 months before informing secular authorities of Josh's behaviour.
Secondly, one of the biggest bullshit assertions of the parents is that "no child" wants the stuff that happened when they were a minor to be dragged out when they're adults later in life, talking about the molested girls. WTF? How about people who've been molested by Catholic priests then, who now in Australia's Royal Commission into child abuse are fronting up to the commission in their adult-hood to tell exactly what happened to them when they were minors at the hands of priests in their childhood? I call total bullshit on the Duggars there.
Thirdly, "God has forgiven him" isn't fuckin good enough. Too convenient. Like I said, whether some god had forgiven Josh or not is beside the point. Society obviously hasn't. Again, if the Duggars lived here they'd now be before the courts dealing with serious charges involving sexual assault on children, whatever their religious views are about it. In the past Josh's father has said that paedophiles should be killed, but now with his son it's "god has forgiven him"......
Fourth, the assertion that Josh didn't commit paedophilia. To take it to the extreme, Josh was 15 when he molested his 5 year old sister. Here in NSW, Australia, you are adult enough to legally have sex when you're 16 (gay or straight). Seems a bit pedantic to use one year of age to differentiate paedophilic crime. To me it seems like they're using definitions and limitations in the law to not consider Josh guilty of paedophilia.
I could go on but that's enough I think. These have been the first people to accuse the LGBT of being paedophiles, most notably as voiced in the interview transgender people using the same bathroom as girls. Now their own son is (IMO) guilty of paedophilia. What is their answer to that? God has forgiven him and a pedantic reading of the law says he's not actually a paedophile.
One thing they likely haven't learned yet about paedophiles, that paedophiles are very good at lying and covering up their behaviour. Has Josh continued his behaviour into adulthood? If so "God has forgiven him" certainly won't carry any sway at all.

TISA evil corporate trade deal leaked - Wikileaks
I've never heard of it. I guess that's the way the corporations want it. The Trade In Services Agreement (TISA) however is another evil corporate takeover of the world like the TPP, covering two thirds of global GDP.
Needless to say it's bad for everyone except those getting corporate profits. Most notably it's bad for democracy, a no brainer since it proposes to usurp elected officials for the sake of corporate profits.
"Preliminary analysis notes that the goal of domestic regulation texts is to remove domestic policies, laws and regulations that make it harder for transnational corporations to sell their services in other countries (actually or virtually), to dominate their local suppliers, and to maximize their profits and withdraw their investment, services and profits at will," writes OWINFS. "Since this requires restricting the right of governments to regulate in the public interest, the corporate lobby is using TISA to bypass elected officials in order to apply a set of across-the-board rules that would never be approved on their own by democratic governments." more
Cheapest supermarkets - Choice magazine survey 2015
Choice has done a new survey of supermarkets in Australia. It's no surprise that Aldi is still the cheapest, but the growth in Coles and Woolworths private labels means they're looking more competitive. Surprisingly Woolworths is the most expensive. If you asked anyone at random they'd likely say Woolworths is cheaper than Coles, but it's not at all.
We have an Aldi nearby and a Coles. David shops at Aldi but there are some things cheaper at Coles, in the sense that you don't have to buy in bulk at Coles. I usually get some packages of meat, chicken, sausages and mince at Coles and a few things of the private label Coles brand which are usually about half the price of the regular brands next to them. Things like frozen fish are much cheaper at Aldi. Specials are big at Coles as well and you can really save a lot there. All up David and I would be spending about $150 a fortnight on groceries. Much of this is because David is a very capable cook and can make stuff out of very little. We also get that fruit and vege delivery for poor people like us, a whole box for $12 a fortnight.
Feel like going postal at the Commonwealth Bank
Lucky Australia has gun laws or I might very well have gone postal at the local branch this morning. The drama of telling them that the financial counselor has the authority to act on my behalf still isn't over.
So I get a call from him this morning saying that they still didn't have the authority form. FFS! WTF are those clowns doing in there? The $bloke has faxed three forms to the bank all filled out and signed by me giving him the authority to deal with the bank on my behalf. I attended the bank a few days ago proving that I was me with all the ID needed. I just couldn't believe that the bank reckoned they didn't have this form and didn't know I was me.
So I printed out the one sent by the bank to me, and went down the road to the community centre to see the $bloke. He signed again the banks form, and we did another Wesley mission version of it. I then headed off to the bank feeling really bloody pissed off with them.
I saw a lady in there who didn't have a clue what to do. She called someone who had only slightly more of a clue, who announced that the $bloke now had to come into the bank to prove he was actually him. What the fuckin fuck? I said it'd been nearly a month all this has been going on and this is the first time anyone said anything about the $bloke having to come into the bank.
I pointed to his business card and told them this was his job. That he'd dealt with the bank previously in such a capacity for other people. In fact he'd told me already that the Commonwealth bank was very hard to deal with.
Another lady comes in with (again) only slightly more of a clue than the one in front of me, who also didn't know WTF to do.
The lady with no clue then rings some bank help line and is informed that the $bloke doesn't in fact need to come in to the bank at all. That the two forms I had be scanned and put into the system, and then the $bloke ring a new number that nobody knew about.
So it was back to the community centre with the news of the new plan of action. The $bloke laughed about the coming in to the bank thing, and said that this was the first time ever a bank had suggested he do so
*sheesh*

Duggars waited 16 months before contacting secular authorities - Josh's molestations
There's much more to the Josh Duggar story, just when we thought it couldn't get any worse. Turns out that Josh confessed to molestation three separate times. During this process it took the fine upstanding christian Duggar parents 16 months to go to the secular authorities for help.
A newly released police report shows that Josh's molestation count numbered at least 7 times, and that he was 15 when he molested his 5 year old sister. Here it is (click to enlarge and turn pages):
I haven't the faintest idea why on earth there is a pissy little three year statute of limitations on child abuse in their US state. It's not my place to demand it change there. All I can do is point to Australia where there is no statute of limitations for child sexual abuse. If this had happened in Australia the Duggar parents would be facing very serious charges of concealing child sexual abuse from the authorities.
Some may wonder why I've gone so Duggar here lately in posting. The simple fact is that they're complete hypocrites like most of christianity that sets itself up to be the be all and end all of human morality. The fact is that the Duggars, both Josh and his parents, have acted immorally whilst portraying themselves to the world sanctimoniously as a moral light on the hill.
They think they have the right to preach to David and I that we are immoral, that we don't love each other really, that we shouldn't be able to marry each other. When they themselves let 4 of their daughters be molested.
They have condemned whole sections of society as being scumbags, when said sections of society would likely have acted far more morally than them. What parent in their right mind would wait 16 months to contact authorities when they knew their daughters were being molested? It's obscene.
Like the Catholic church, when the real truth comes out they have no right to act/pretend to be moral guardians of humanity in any way.
Imagine, just imagine the condemnation from the churchies if the Duggar parents were same sex parents? If they were politically lefties? Hypocrisy in the extreme.

With fewer redactions than the first report, the Washington County Sheriff’s document makes it clear that despite Josh’s chilling confessions the Duggars waited at least 16 months before contacting authorities about the molestations, even though the behavior was continuing and growing worse. During that period they did not get professional counseling for Josh or his victims. Legal experts tell In Touch that Jim Bob and Michelle could have faced six years in prison for their inaction, if the statute of limitations had not expired. moreYet unbelievably, the so called journalist at Fox news who has the task of interviewing the Duggar parents shortly, has complained that the media isn't giving the Duggars a fair go. Seriously.

10 weirded out sexual fetishes - number one is just out there
I was watching this for a bit of morbid interest. However number one left me picking my chin up off the floor. I have heard bits and pieces about it, but the number of people that do this now is staggering :s WTF? Not giving any hints.
Kansas limits welfare recipients to $20 ATM withdrawals
Corporations pay fuck all tax, but look over there.... bludging welfare assholes sending us all broke! Get them! Punish them!
Kansas has introduced a welfare law that recipients can only withdraw $20 from an ATM, incurring bank fees every time. Evidently they use some welfare card like Abbott wants to introduce over here. Big brother in the land of the free :s
Um, thank fuck we don't have that card here. I don't use cash anyway, just a debit card at the checkout with the wireless beep thingo.

Catholic Archbishop pastoral letter "Don't mess with marriage" - Melbourne
Bloody self righteous hypocrites. The Catholic Archbishop of Melbourne has sent a pastoral letter home with Catholic school kids that opposes gay marriage. The letter is online, but it's also a PDF of a glossy booklet (the link to that is at the bottom of the letter). Nice to see the Catholic church spending it's money on something other than defending paedophiles I guess. Although this is an entirely hypocritical load of bullshit.
I note the use of capital letters in the linked page, "DON'T MESS WITH MARRIAGE". Why they did that I guess is to add weight to the link, but they have no idea of online etiquette. The use of capitals is considered shouting, and rude. But I digress...
Actually, the entire paragraph quote is even more hilarious. This from the pastoral letter itself:
Seriously, the Catholic church preaching to Australia about morality? Oh please. My suggestion would be to stick to defending their paedophiles, although that's all unraveling too of late.

Archbishop of Melbourne Denis Hart wrote to about 200 principals at Catholic primary and secondary schools on Monday, urging them to lobby parents to support the current "meaning of marriage".Oh the humanity! A marriage based on love instead of procreation!
Archbishop Hart said it was urgent that "the meaning of marriage" and the "implications of redefining marriage" were highlighted.
Principals were asked to give parents a pastoral letter from the Catholic bishops of Australia titled "Don't Mess with Marriage".
"You might also consider asking them to send it to their Members of Parliament with a covering letter," Mr Hart said.
The 15-page booklet said redefining marriage would have "far-reaching consequences". "All marriages would come to be defined by intensity of emotion rather than a union founded on sexual complementarily and potential fertility." more
Actually, the entire paragraph quote is even more hilarious. This from the pastoral letter itself:
Redefining marriage in the way now proposed would see marriage reduced to a committed, affectionate sexual relationship between any two people. All marriages would come to be defined by intensity of emotion rather than a union founded on sexual complementarity and potential fertility. Husbands and wives, mothers and fathers, will be seen to be wholly interchangeable social constructs, as gender would no longer matter. moreOMG! a "committed, affectionate sexual relationship between any two people"! Is there no end to this evil? Run for the hills!
Seriously, the Catholic church preaching to Australia about morality? Oh please. My suggestion would be to stick to defending their paedophiles, although that's all unraveling too of late.
My new blood pressure pill is out of stock - WTF?
I had made it to pension day yesterday with just enough of the pills "Tarka" before having to get another prescription for them. Was completely run out and needed it that day. It's an important one as my blood pressure goes bananas without them in a rather short time. However the pharmacy informed me they had been out of stock of them for some time. Some kind of problem with the supplier.
Good grief, I've never come across this before. How could a supplier let such an important pill as this run out?
I went to a different chemist across the road. Same thing there. They'd been out of stock of it for a while. Tarka had tanked it. Fuck, if I couldn't get them I'd have to go see my doctor as soon as possible to get something else. What a fuckin hassle.
I then went to the Chemist Warehouse up the road, and luckily enough they had one box left. Whew.
Anyway have made an appt next week to see the doctor about it. I can't be fucking around with this pill if the supplier can't supply the bloody thing.

"Pay day loans" loan sharks - ASIC concerns, senate economics
For all my family dysfunction there are things that remain with me to this day that my father was right on. One of those things was "loan sharks" and to never ever get a loan off one of them. Loan sharks are the quickest way to bring yourself undone.
Pay day loans are IMO the latest breed of loan sharks, and the latest breed to never ever get involved in. Unfortunately the newer generations don't seem to realise this. Here we have senate economics going into the problems involved in pay day loans. They target the most vulnerable and uninformed people.
I note "Nimble" has been in trouble with ASIC. David at one point ages ago wanted to get a loan off them, but I convinced him not to. We never found out the actual interest rate they were charging for the prospective loan, but it must have been extremely exorbitant given the payments they wanted in return in the timetable they requested.

"Silent majority" don't want gay marriage - Lieberal "social cohesion" minister
In another spectacular show of just how much out of touch with Australians the Lieberals are, their minister for "social cohesion" (whatever the fuck that's supposed to be), pictured, has asserted that a "silent majority" of Australians will reject marriage equality.
on all opinion polls for the entire last 8 years. One would think that if this was such a huge issue with the "majority" then the "silent" ones would caste away their silence early on and speak up to the pollsters, especially if said polls were providing a big push for equality. Surely they'd want to make it known the so called true opinions of Australians?
Or have all the polls, provided by different companies since 2007. been wrong? Did they not ring the right people? Was there something wrong with all their methodology? Did their random phone calls not contact the righteous? This is a question that they should direct to the pollsters themselves, as it's the pollsters reputations on the line to get their polls correct as to what Australian's opinions really are. If they'd gotten it so wrong, they'd all be looking seriously at going out of business. Laughing stocks.
Apparently though there's some silent people unbeknown to the pollsters who haven't actually been rung or talked to in any way, who are the majority of Australians, who are about to jump out of their silent closet now that they see their silence has been disingenuous to their cause?
If we're to believe this, then why has the Australian Christian Lobby been so loudly and vocally opposed to marriage equality for all of this time?
My assertion is that if the Lieberals continue on this path of denial then they will deny themselves relevance to Australians even more so than they've done by electing Abbott to be their leader.
The "silent majority" of Australians will reject moves to introduce same-sex marriage, according to the Abbott Government frontbencher responsible for social cohesion.Presumably this silent majority has been so incredibly silent that they've been silent
Conservative NSW Liberal senator Concetta Fierravanti-Wells believes allowing a conscience vote on the issue would be perceived as a "cop out" and might lead to a disconnect between the Liberal Party's base and parliamentary wing.
"I do not believe there is at the grassroots of the Liberal Party any overwhelming support for a change to such a fundamental bedrock issue," Senator Fierravanti-Wells told the ABC. more

Zac washes my head - pic & video
David took this about an hour ago. I'm sitting in the PC chair and Zac jumps up and starts washing my head. It feels like sandpaper. My eyes were blinded as David also took the picture. I think it means Zac likes me a lot :) I'm looking a bit under the weather with this cold flu whatever thing.
*Note to Americans, David and I speak a touch in the clip. Do you lot over there still enjoy an Aussie accent? Or have Depp's dogs episode turned you against us? ha ha ha... Or in my case a sort of Kiwi/Aussie thing happening :)
