The walking dead - Malcolm Turnbull by Angry Aussie :)
The Lieberals are clobbering themselves left, right, and centre. Angry describes the commencement of Turnbull's death march. The blame game has started in earnest.
An election they thought would be a walk in the park, they now find themselves almost powerless. The best scenario is scraping together the barest majority and facing another hostile senate.
Dopey Dutton nearly loses his seat - blames everyone else
It appears the GetUp campaign against one of The Blockers, Peter Dutton, has had quite an effect. He's nearly lost his seat up there in Queensland.
In true Lieberal form though he's blamed everyone else. In the form of "union thugs", "bikies" and of course Labor and GetUp. That's quite a list, the poor persecuted precious dearie. Another terribly oppressed white christian male. Cripes they're breeding like flies in the Lieberal party!
He suffered a 5.8% swing against him which was certainly more than the national average.
The election result is still unknown, currently Lieberals 70 seats, Labor 60, 5 independents, and 1 with the Nick Xenophon team. Nobody has a 76 seat majority as yet.
Immigration Minister Peter Dutton has blamed bikies, union thugs, activists and "sneaky" Labor tactics for his plummeting popularity in the Queensland seat of Dickson.
As of Monday afternoon, Mr Dutton was ahead by just 1250 votes in a two-candidate contest with Labor's Linda Lavarch. It represents a 5.8 per cent swing against him - far more than that suffered by the Coalition nationwide.
Mr Dutton had been touted as an alternative deputy Liberal leader to Julie Bishop, but his political future now hangs in the balance. If he retains the seat, in Brisbane's outer north-west, it will be on the slimmest of margins.
The Coalition frontbencher, who presides over a contentious, hard-line refugee policy, has pointed to a negative campaign by Labor for the dent in his standing, AAP reported.
He claimed Labor leader Bill Shorten ran a "negative, sneaky and tricky" campaign, in which unionists harassed the elderly. Sydney Morning Herald

Severe back pain
Dunno WTF is going on with it, but it started hurting yesterday and slowly got worse and worse. Woke up this morning in agony, lower back on the left. Hurts to even move or cough.
Have been bedridden all day. Managed to get up a bit earlier and watch some telly. The lounge chair I found to be quite comfortable, and the cat Natasha came and plonked on my lap :)
I guess will just have to take it really easy for a while. Thirty years of heavy lifting has taken it's toll I suppose.

Lieberal Jamie Briggs loses his seat of Mayo! - ha ha ha ha ha.......
| Briggs blocked me on Twitter after I blocked him because of my mental health issues. He is a gutless piss head juvenile. *click to enlarge |

| Briggs laughing about injuring himself in the post Abbott PM piss up |
Jamie Briggs, drunken pollie, has lost his fuckin seat of Mayo! Hooray!
I take great pleasure as after I posted this (raising the question of Briggs being in trouble in Mayo?) Briggs followed me on Twitter and I blocked him. Mayo BTW is the seat that Howard foreign minister Alexander Downer held during the Howard gov reign of horror.
I notice Briggs in return blocked me on Twitter; further confirmation that he only followed me as some sort of spy. How fuckin juvenile on both counts. Pretty much as juvenile as his drunken MP happenings of the post Abbott PM piss up and the offensive behaviour to a woman in Hong Kong.
How fuckin lovely it is so see such a fuckwit of entitlement to go down. Three cheers for that! Briggs has conceded defeat :)
Get a real job fuckwit Briggs! Compete for the zero jobs your stupid gov has created! Ha ha ha ha ha ha...........
In other news overall, Australia is facing a hung parliament and the election results won't be known tonight. It will go down to the full counts and postal votes. Much congrats to all progressive parties in having such a huge result against the Lieberals.
Being the party to take office by making the governing party the first one term gov in 80 years was almost an impossible ask. However the Lieberals have very nearly gone down after said first term. Again congrats to all my fellow lefties in Australia :)
Adelaide. Rebekha Sharkie has become the first member of the Nick Xenophon Team to take a seat in the lower house, taking Mayo from the one-time Liberal Party minister Jamie Briggs.
Mr Briggs resigned from his ministry in December after a late night incident in a Hong Kong bar involving a public servant travelling in the same group.
The race was particularly bitter as Ms Sharkie is a former staff member for Mr Briggs. The incident clearly resonated with some voters, one of who upbraided Mr Briggs in front of assembled media as he went to vote earlier in the day. \
"Certainly, I didn't feel that Jamie and my personal values were aligned. There were things said that were misogynist in nature," Ms Sharkie told The Australian of her time in Mr Briggs' staff. He responded that her claims were baseless and that she was an opportunist.
At about 9pm, Mr Briggs conceded he had lost, Tweeting:" After a tough fight tonight hasn't been our night, thanks to those who supported me and my best to the new member, its a great electorate" Sydney Morning Herald
Wash your feet in the blood of Orlando victims - sick hate pastor Anderson, US
More love from the christians.......
Here hate pastor Anderson admonishes his congregation saying that the bible tells christians to wash their feet in the blood of the wicked/Orlando victims.
I knew they hated us but this is beyond belief. To have so much hatred towards any group of people is just sick.
I reckon he's gay, just like the Orlando shooter. It's his projected self hatred that is driving him.
"$500million on homophobic slurs" - LGBT marriage plebiscite
The absurdity of the marriage equality plebiscite exposed. A legitimising of radical christian views with gov funds, at the expense of LGBT mental health. How many lives will be lost in our community over this?
A reaction to Orlando and preacher hate - "Guns & Religion Kill People"
Vlogger Jaclyn Glenn gives her thoughts after the Orlando shooting. She describes the hurt felt after the shooting to see christian extremists being happy about the death of LGBT people.
I don't however agree that the bible says to kill us. The true meaning of the so called anti-gay scriptures have been lost in interpretation over the centuries. It is possible to be christian and gay. Although why one would want to be christian is beyond me personally :s
A third of doctors likely to end bulk billing - HIV infections to rise?
It's a pretty small survey of only 50 doctors, but never the less was conducted by the Doctors Reform Society. One third of these doctors said they will have to end bulk billing for everyone.
This will have serious consequences for people's health. How pensioners are supposed to come up with extra money to see a doctor is beyond me. For example our rent has gone up to $400 a week now and we're paying that as pensioners (me the DSP and David the Carers Payment). There's nothing to spare believe me.
I'll be asking my doctor about this when I see him next. Likely they'll simply keep doing what they are presently. It's $85 up front to see a doctor there, but pensioners are bulk billed. Given that many clients are HIV+ it would be doubtful for them to end this.
But that doesn't help everyone else in the community who attends 30% of other clinics does it. And how will that affect people in the community at risk of HIV infection who attend said clinics? Will this cause infection rates in Australia to rise? After all if HIV isn't diagnosed and treated the person is infectious and can spread the virus to others.
In which case huge expense is caused to the PBS and Medicare with each new infection. HIV medication is incredibly expensive and a huge cost to the PBS. Talk about a false economy. Bloody morons.
Well you never know. The election result is as yet unknown.
More than 30% of doctors say they will have to stop bulk billing all patients due to the Medicare rebate indexation freeze, a survey by a doctors’ group has warned.
The survey of 50 GPs in Sydney by the Doctors Reform Society also found more than half of those surveyed said they would increase their fees.
The society’s vice-president, Dr Con Costa, said “because of the cuts we’ve seen under this government, many doctors are telling us that they will stop bulk billing all patients”.
“Based on our survey, I predict patients will be paying a GP copayment of up to $39 – more than five times the Abbott GP copayment of $7,” he said.
“With fewer and fewer doctors bulk billing, we’re genuinely concerned that people are going to stop seeing their local GP because the cost will be too high.” The Guardian

LGBT hate mail - video :(
Plebiscite anyone? Yes darlings, we can give these people a voice in our very own Australia, funded by taxpayers, at the behest of Tony Abbott's captains call.....
UN calls out UK austerity measures as a human rights breach
The United Nations have strongly worded a report on England, with it's so called austerity program being in breach of human rights.
We should consider this in Australia on election eve. $50billion to corporations? FFS!
The danger of a gay kiss - video
Strangely I could see it coming. It's become instinctive to recognise a possible bashing. David is more so. We were in the open air smoking area of the Shift the other day ($4 beers all day you know) and I gave him a kiss.
It's a gay pub on Oxford St, in the middle of the "gay mile". It just happens to be right next to a bus stop and a main route into the city. When I kissed him he glanced at who might be looking on the bus.
A simple expression of love and affection becomes an exercise in hate/danger awareness.

10% of voters still undecided - an historical high
Tomorrow Australians go to the polls. After 8 long and excruciating weeks of campaigning, the polls have done fuck all. Still sitting around 50/50. Or as Ernie and Bert would say "Even Stevens old buddy Bert!"
What is interesting though is the number of people still undecided at 10%. Historically this is double what it usually is. These will be the ones who decide the election result. Likely they will make up their minds in the polling booths. This election could go either way. The idea that it's in the bag for the Lieberals is Murdoch preaching. Tomorrow will tell.
There are 15,676,659 people enrolled to vote for this election. That's up almost one million since 2013. The participation rate is estimated at 95 per cent, compared to 92 per cent in 2013.
The estimated number of eligible voters who aren't enrolled has slumped from 1.22 million to 816,000.
The participation rate of 18 year olds has risen from around 50 per cent to over 70 per cent.
The AEC attributes much of the lift in participation to the fact you can now register to vote online. That may indeed make it easier to register to vote. But it doesn't mean you have to.
Equally, a staggering 2.2 million people had already cast votes at pre-polling centres by Thursday morning. That's just under 15 per cent of voters: a lot of people rushing to be disengaged (or practice obscene art on their ballot papers).
There are the obvious points to make about how, more than usual, that means the vote will freeze frame changing views of politics over the past couple of weeks.
But there has never seemed such a big gap between what the published polls tell us – a tight race and a hung parliament; and the overwhelming expectation of a now comfortable win for the Coalition.
Some of this apparent disparity will be played out in the story of votes for independents and minor parties. But another layer in the complex story of the electorate lies in what is still a huge undecided vote: in published polls it is still hovering around 10 per cent (double the more normal levels).
