Queen goes bananas at Trump for using their music

By the look of it the rock group Queen is furious at Trump for using their song as walk in music on stage. Adam Lambert for example has tweeted the above picture, apparently retweeted by Brian May.

Queen has already denounced Trump for using their music to walk on stage.

Modern bloody technology! - Grrrr!

*Sheesh*

So I went to the doctors earlier as I have nearly run out  of my HIV medication. You know how it is, so sick of going to the doctor I put it off for as long as possible. Only have a few days left.

Turns out my doctor is on leave until next month. So I have to arrange to see another one in the centre. I tell the receptionist on the phone that it's an HIV prescription I need so I get a doctor who can prescribe it. Last time this happened I was sent to a young doctor who couldn't.

I don't like seeing other doctors, but I thought this would be fine just a prescription. I get in there and he's confused as my file can't be opened on his computer with a massive curvy wide screen. Someone in Brisbane has locked it or some shit say the massive curvy screen. I say it's only two prescriptions. He says he can't do a prescription without opening my file! WTF?

The days of a physical file on the doctors desk and a prescription pad next to it before all these computers took over, suddenly seemed like a very fond memory.

The doctor buzzed one of the receptionists who came into the room and decided to ring Brisbane. Turns out the Centre has another centre up in Brisbane. Shortly she buzzed back through with the explanation.

Over the years of going there I've taken part in a number of research studies to do with HIV. One of the researchers at their Brisbane centre had my file open doing something with the data. They apologised and said they'd soon be finished. What are the odds?

So the doctor saw the next patient whilst I waited again outside his office. In the end I was there over an hour just for two prescriptions, despite getting there just 10 minutes before my appointment.

Yes folks, this is one of the wonders of modern technology. Where someone in Brisbane can open my file and me in Sydney can't get a prescription until they close it. Just bloody marvelous isn't it :s

Melania Trump stole her speech from Michelle Obama - RNC files :s

Certainly one of the most obvious cut and pastes in recent times. Watch as Melania Trump recites Michelle Obama's speech from 2008, when she speaks at the Republican convention.

I've seen the odd politician use the same speech twice, but plagerism?

Mike Pence is an LGBT nightmare - Trump's running mate

Mike Pence and his anti-LGBT clusterfuck last year in Indiana
I only heard about this Republican nutter over the Indiana thing (signing pictured above) when it made news world wide. But there's much much more LGBT hate coming from this guy.

Watch as it's all summarised in a 5 minute clip. How someone can have so much animosity towards a minority is quite astonishing. Yet this guy could become the vice president of the US.

Shocking scenes as Republicans pray for Trump to win at convention

Imagine if this was a bunch of Islamics?

Shocking and disturbing video from the Republican convention. Led by some raving lunatic preacher man, the audience prays that Trump will win the presidency. Yes folks, praying that their country will be run by an ignorant lunatic.

What the worst is however is the mixture of religion and politics. There is something deeply wrong going on at that convention.

Trump's ridiculous entrance at Republican convention

*Update: Queen's Brian May Denies Donald Trump's Usage of 'We Are The Champions'

It's not often you see something so mind-numbingly stupid as Trump's entrance to the Republican convention. It has everything, from Orwellian doublespeak (a Queen song FFS?) to tacky dramatics. I honestly don't know where to start. He's all show and no go.

Abbott "shocked" by lesbian mums 2004 - Play School 50yrs old :)

Yes folks, this was our prime minister for two long years of darkness. As Australian show Play School turns 50, the ABC looks back at some of it's history.

Interestingly there was the lesbian thing in 2004. Being a very progressive show it aired a same sex family with two mothers. Included is footage of Abbott "shocked".

You see he didn't want his kids to see it. "Think of the children!" and all that.

BTW I grew up with Play School in New Zealand. On the one black and white TV station, TVNZ aired the Australian Play School. Along with Skippy I might add :)

ACL doesn't want the wording "marriage equality" in plebsicte - video

That despicable man Lyle Shelton of the Australian Christian Lobby is interviewed here along with New South Wales gay independent Alex Greenwich. Alex is part of the Marriage Equality campaign here in Australia.

Apart from the fact that I can never get over seeing my human rights debated on TV, Shelton never ceases to aghast me. Oh he's just a vile and despicable man. He wants to delay the plebiscite (typical) and says that changing the marriage act is the biggest thing for Australia to face since the debate over becoming a republic and changing the system of gov. This despite PM Howard changing the marriage act early this century without much fuss and bother at all, and certainly without a plebiscite.

But the most shocking thing he says is that the wording of the plebiscite shouldn't include "marriage equality" as it's "misleading" as it's "not equal for children". What a fuckin insult. All the research shows that kids of gay parents do just as well if not better than their counterparts. Yet he still drags up this tired old misinformation.

Is this the bullish argument he's going to come out with during a plebiscite? Unresearched lies? "Think of the children!"

The video is from ACL but it's just the news interview without adjustment. Hence the title of doom of the video :s

Shelton also calls the anti-discrimination laws a "big stick".

"White elevators" signs at Republican convention - batshit crazy platform endorsed :s

The above sign was spotted at the venue for the soon to be Republican convention. Nobody seems to know how the signs got there or who decided to make them, although the Republican party design is clearly visible above the writing.

Now there's a bit of a panic to get them down. Dog whistle?
It’s unclear who vetted the signs or why they were hung in the first place. Neither RNC organizers nor Trump’s campaign immediately responded to the Daily News’ request for further comment.

The “white” banners are eerily similar to the signs that once kept America segregated: Everything from bathrooms to restaurant entrances were labeled for “white” and “colored” use until segregation was abolished in 1964. NY Daily News
In other completely wacked out Republican news, they've been endorsing Trump's nutty Mexican wall, as well as wanting to put bibles in schools. And of course to peal back LGBT rights. All very christian you know, bibles and walls. Building walls for Jesus?
In a list of priorities straight out of the 1950s, the GOP formalized Donald Trump’s insane plan to build a Mexican border wall as part of its official party platform — while also doing away with LGBT rights and favoring Bibles in public schools.

Republican delegates gathering in Cleveland ahead of the party’s nominating convention approved a draft of language for the formal GOP platform that proposes a wall that would cover “the entirety of the southern border and must be sufficient to stop both vehicular and pedestrian traffic.”

In a tweet Wednesday, Trump wrote: “New GOP platform now includes language that supports the border wall. We will build the wall and MAKE AMERICA SAFE AGAIN!” NY Daily News
Far out. They've gone mad. Nuts. Bonkers. Totally lost the plot. Team Abbott looks sane compared to this lot.

David starting Uni today

He had the orientation thing on Friday and today is his first day at Uni. He's studying to be a higher grade of nurse so he's not on the shop floor so to speak. An 18 month course he'll finish in early 2018. Through Careers Australia. Some kind of HECS thing where the gov pays and you pay back money if you earn over a certain amount.

He's certainly been through the wringer since the discrimination happened to him. I've said before that people just don't realise what it can do to a person. Some may think that the LGBT community would be used to it but it's just not the case. Discrimination hurts, no matter who you are.

So he was up at some ungodly hour this morning getting ready and all. I feel lost without him around at the moment I must say. All couples have their problems and arguments but we seem to get on extremely well. Have spent a lot of time together over the last couple of years too, just around the house not going anywhere.

Trump goes gay hater

Remember this Indiana religious clusterfuck? Trump running mate Mike Pence signs anti-LGBT law in Indiana

So much for the Trump assertion that he's the fuckin friend of gays. Not that any of us believed his bla.

He has now in fact chosen that dreadful governor of Indiana, that made headlines across the world the other month for being the first US state to institute anti-LGBT laws in response to marriage equality there.

Now he's Trump's running mate FFS.

Far out crazy swim wear - Josh Rimer (video)

WTF?

Josh Rimer reviews some seriously nutty swim wear. I have no idea why people would even bother putting some of these on, other that the possibility that they haven't got access to a nude beach. Honestly, if you're going to wear stuff like this you might as well be totally naked FFS!

Trump calls immigrants sick "in many respects" - US

Oh my how things have changed in the US. A country that in the past welcomed immigrants, today there is a presidential candidate calling immigrants sick.

What a perversion of the US dream.
Not like the brazen giant of Greek fame, With conquering limbs astride from land to land; Here at our sea-washed, sunset gates shall stand A mighty woman with a torch, whose flame Is the imprisoned lightning, and her name Mother of Exiles. From her beacon-hand Glows world-wide welcome; her mild eyes command The air-bridged harbor that twin cities frame.

"Keep, ancient lands, your storied pomp!" cries she With silent lips. "Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, The wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"

Where is the modelling? - Lieberal aged care cuts

These ridiculous proposed cuts to the aged care sector have run into trouble already before the new Lieberal hanging by a thread gov is even formed. I say ridiculous because it's nothing more than Scrooge penny pinching that will cause untold suffering to some of the most vulnerable people in Australia. Those in our communities who are old and rely on being in a facility to care for them.

Again, this isn't how Australian's behave. I don't know why this gov is doing so, apart from the likelihood of the persecuted middle aged white christian men in Canberra think that their form of christianity is to cause suffering amongst the weakest of us. How very Abbott.

With the prospect of nearly $2billion being taken from said old and vulnerable since last year, those in the sector who care about those they care for are in an uproar, asking pretty much "Where the fuck is the modelling as to how you arrived at these lunatic numbers?"

I dare say these latest cuts of $1.6billion don't presently have a snowball's chance in hell of getting through the new senate. It's very likely that neoliberal fascist notions of $ will fall flat on it's face on the senate floor.

And for good reason. The new diverse senate will be one more representative of the views of the common Australian. We don't want the old to suffer, particularly when the gov wants to give $50billion to corporations for nothing more than simply existing. The prospect for Australians to inflict suffering on the weak and the old for the sake of the $ just won't fly. It's simply not who we are as a people.
The peak body for older Australians is demanding the government reveal the modelling that underpinned its surprise decision to cut $1.6 billion from residential aged care.

What is known as the aged care funding instrument is being altered to save $1.2 billion over four years.

The cut in the May budget comes on top of $472 million in cuts to the sector announced in late 2015.

The measures are key elements of the government's budget repair plan.

The perception is that providers are stretching the truth when assessing the needs of residents to attract more money.

"The government should open up its modelling and the process of how it arrived at these figures," Ian Yates, the chief executive of Councils on the Ageing (COTA) Australia, said.

"I want to see the evidence, I want to see the modelling."

Without changes to the funding instrument, which is used to calculate per-resident support according to the complexity of their care needs, there would have been a cost blowout of $3.8 billion, Health Minister Sussan Ley has warned.

But the cuts came as a surprise to aged care providers, which have been undergoing step-change reform since the Living Longer, Living Better package of 2012, which has bipartisan support.

Labor has committed to a major review of the way aged care services are provided and paid for, but insists it is not in a position to reverse the $1.2 billion cut.

Nick Xenophon, whose Nick Xenophon Team could have significant sway in the next Senate, has promised to try to delay the cuts until there is an inquiry into the sector.

Aged and Community Services Australia president Paul Sadler said annual funding per resident would drop by $6655 under the changes. AFR

Labor is on fire! - shadow jobs bloke goes bananas (video)

Yes folks, the Lieberal carcass gov, Team Turnbull, I would suggest is in it's death throws before it's even sworn in.

This interview with the shadow employment minister is a sight to beyond. He's fired up, intelligent, and even the reporters sound excited. Indeed Labor has stayed in election mode.

They smell political blood. A paralysed and incompetent gov has just gotten over the line, a leader bullied by far right extremism entirely unpopular to Australian voters, likely an election will be forced long long before a three year term has passed.

The knife is put in. The sword. And twisted for pain and damage. He's actually right down the line with my own thinking. Amazing. I abandoned Labor some time ago as the Greens have a much better social policy. This from Labor now is a great surprise to me, and a pleasing one.

It appears Labor is now addressing the modern problems that workers and the poor face, and in doing so are moving back to their roots.

It's that fuckin asylum thing that turns me off is all. I can't vote for a party that does that to refugees in any sort of good conscience. It's not me and I never want it to be.
