The wingnut fuckwittery is in full swing in the US. Evidently the christians smell blood! Not HIV+ blood, but full blown AIDS blood. The ignorance in this particular case is, in 2015, quite astonishing:
OK......... Firstly, to use myself as an example. With the modern drugs now available for HIV it's a normal thing now for those with HIV (men, women, gay or straight) to have their HIV virus level so clobbered by said medications as to be undetectable by current methods. This hugely changes things. No longer can an HIV person infect people like they used to. In fact studies show that the infection risk of having gay sex with a partner who's undetectable is reduced to only 4%. This has been a game changer, compared to the anti-retroviral game changer of the mid 1990's. In fact such a game changer that infection rates will plummet if people with HIV proceed to diagnosis and control of the virus with HIV meds. This would mean I suggest, that shaving someone, even with blood involved, that the risk of infection is virtually nothing. You would have to have a direct contact blood to blood with the HIV+'s blood going directly into your bloodstream, and even then maybe not.
Secondly, what about other diseases that are much more easily caught? Why single out the "gay" HIV virus? It's discrimination. There hep A, B, C, which are much easier to get, along with all the other ones like syphilis and gonorrhea. Has anyone ever heard of a barber refusing to shave someone because they might have that?
