Abbott's hypocrisy on the senate killing the Medicare cut

I suspect there is great wailing, gnashing of teeth, and sack cloth and ashes in Federal Lieberal ranks at the moment. The news from the senate is bad bad bad for them, no two ways about it. Already there are enough votes to disallow the Medicare changes that will spell the end of bulk billing across Australia, unreservedly and determinedly the majority of the senate has already made up it's mind against them.

What a fuckin fuck up. One of this proportion could only come from a gov as hapless as Abbott's. What were they thinking? After all the trouble they had with the senate last year not wanting to charge people $7 to see a doctor, why in the hell did they think the senate would agree to a $20 fee? The stupidity is mind boggling. It's like they seem to think that just by saying something then it will be so. Do they not realise they live in a democracy with checks and balances against abuse of power? Or in this case against throwing the poor and sick over the bonnet of the F-35's and fucking them senseless. Honestly, what the fuck?

So now look at where they are. Medical centres across the nation presently have no choice but to end bulk billing, well at least for those not "fortunate" enough to be on gov benefits (BTW anyone who thinks those of us on benefits are "fortunate" needs their bloody head read). Australians will be reacting in shock and horror at this slimy back door sneak attack on our beloved Medicare system. Certainly the media hasn't picked it up anything like with the $7 co-payment idea. And then in Feb the ultimate humiliation for the gov; the senate will rip apart these new slimy measures and throw them on the ever growing heap of gov senate disasters. SSJoe humiliated. Abbott humiliated. Polls diving further as Australians vent their anger at a Lieberal gov determined to punish the poor and unfortunate.

This won't be until Feb though. Interestingly the Queensland Lieberals will be going to the polls right smack in the middle of the populations fury.....

But perhaps the most stark thing in all of this is the Abbott gov hypocrisy. SSJoe will be whining like Pyne about it. Abbott will be pointing the finger at the opposition parties and blaming them for not letting the sick be fucked by his gov. Even now Abbott see's the writing on the senate wall and has dared the senate to come up with a better way to fund a health system that's already funded by the Medicare levy and isn't at all going broke. Why why why is the senate making it so hard to try and suck money out of a stone? bla bla bla....

So here it is, Abbott now:

He called on his critics to provide their own budget savings if they continued to reject the government’s attempts to restore the budget to surplus and pay down the debt.

“We are serious about economic reform, we are serious about budget responsibility – is the Senate? That is the question; are they serious about economic reform and budget responsibility and if they don’t like what this governments doing tell us what their alternative is,” he said. more 

Have they not the slightest bit of brains? Apparently in their heads the only way to pay down the deficit is to clobber people without money, blood from a stone. 

Here it is, Abbott when he was the attack dog in opposition:

Oppositions are not there to get legislation through. Oppositions are there to hold the government to account. And unless we are confident that a piece of legislation is beyond reasonable doubt in the national interest, it is our duty as the Opposition to vote it down. more
