Gays accused of "demonic hatred" of Christians

This shit is really out there.

Oh really? After the years of being beaten, killed, hated, gays finally get organised and want equality. How many died, murdered or suicide, even just in the most recent 50 years? And it's been the churches that have opposed the LGBT community every step of the way.

Personally, I do try and keep my ravings at a reasonable level of disgust at what religion has done to gay people. But I can certainly understand the level of frustration and anger felt by many boiling over into rhetoric rather more than mine.

And after all that venom, hatred, bigotry, shaming, the churches claim they're the most wonderful caring people on the planet. I guess I have only one thing to say to them at the moment.

How does it feel being in a minority?

In some ways it's sort of a bit of sadistic entertainment. Watching these assholes who for years and years have crapped on and held sway in the community, go down in a screaming hissy fit. These days their loony ravings can be seen world wide on the net, and they're finding that people are now seeing through their fuckin bullshit.
The Reagan Revolution is highly responsible for giving rise (or at least credence) to the religious right, the "culture war," and so much of what we have come to know about socially conservative politicking. For LGBT people, this meant everything from negligence on HIV/AIDS policy in the days when so much could have been done to the wave of marriage amendments that turned same-sex couples' civil rights into scapegoat-shaped punching bags. While LGBT people struggled to gain the most basic degree of acceptance and (ideally) respect, the social conservatives that became so emboldened during the Reagan/Falwell/Focus-on-the-'80s fought us as every single turn. more
