Not guilty plea - Mardi Gras bashing

Bryn Hutchinson was crossing the street after Mardi Gras and was accosted by about 5 police officers for doing so. He sustained bruising and was charged with "assaulting an officer" and "resisting arrest". You can read about it all here, along with pictures of his injuries.

He has now appeared for the first time in court and has plead not guilty to the charges. He will face another court date later this month.
Former Community Action Against Homophobia (CAAH) co-convenor and gay rights advocate Bryn Hutchison,32, has pled not guilty to charges of assaulting police and resisting arrest following his controversial treatment by NSW Police during Sydney Mardi Gras.

Flanked by family members, supporters and CAAH co-convenor Karl Hand, Hutchison appeared before Sydney Central Local Court on Friday to answer the charges and set a date for a later hearing.
CAAH activists rallied outside the courthouse as Hutchison arrived, calling for police to drop the charges and open an external inquiry into police conduct during the parade. more
It will be interesting what the magistrate eventually thinks of all of this.....
