David nearly cut off Newstart, again :s

It's just never ending. It's like they want him to live in constant fear of being cut off, even though it's a payment given to him as he's ill. Long story there. In other words he doesn't have to look for work whilst this doctors cert covers him. Thing is, these near cut off occurrences aren't even supposed to be happening - they're all Centrelink fuck ups.

Quite apart from David, there's me as well trying to get by on his Newstart (my DSP pays nothing more than the rent). So of course if he gets cut off we're both fucked, not just him. The situation is then that I'm having to deal with these cut off prospects with him and all the anxiety and fear that that would bring.

Anyway, he went down there with an updated doctors cert early this morning. First in the door when it opened. He gets to being seen straight away but the news is rather anxiety inducing (glad I wasn't there).

First the lady was doubtful if the Centrelink computer would accept a third cert, it did however as his condition had worsened a bit after fucking around trying to get money out of Centrelink. The cert included "anxiety" this time as well (thank you Centrelink for that one). So that was all OK and done.

Then she said that today he had to "report". WTF? We have got his next reporting date written in blood on the calendar at home FFS. It's on the PC at home when he's logged into his online Centrelink account. But there was another mysterious report required today that nobody had told him about at all, not even their online bla.

So it was disaster avoided again in the nick of time, simply by chance. If David had not reported to Centrelink today he'd have been cut off without any idea why. It was only because he was putting in the medical cert that he ended up there anyway and the lady "reported" for him and fixed it all.

Still no sign of the Carers Allowance yet either. We need that to stop going into constant debt to survive. That super money I got out isn't going to last long without it.

Of course the Centrelink line is always "Don't worry, you'll be back paid all you are owed", as if that's supposed to make everything OK. What if I told that to the landlord? Can't pay you until Centrelink back pays. Maybe I could go up to the supermarket and give them an IOU saying I'll pay them when Centrelink back pays.
