David might have a new job :)

He doesn't have to look for work until Feb from the medical cert from his doctor, but he decided to involve himself in the employment service's associated with Centrelink to see if they would be able to assist. It's quite a big thing getting back to work after such a horrifying experience as the discrimination he received at his last work of 7 years. Fortunately though, the support has been there both medically and psychologically to help him to deal with all the issues involved. It's taken this long for him to come back from that and think about going back to work again.

So he came back yesterday from this employment agency thing saying that they'd found a vacancy at a rehab hospital nearby, which is exactly the thing he is experienced in the most and likes to do the most. So he has another appt next Tuesday at the agency where they'll proceed the thing further. That would be ideal for him if he gets that one.

How ironic. It's taken all this time to actually finally get what he's entitled to from Centrelink, just in time for him to go back to work :s  I don't know how Centrelink does things when people go back to work after Newstart as I've never been in that position. Neither has he. To our surprise Centrelink gives a special going back to work payment of $250. That would be just to buy things like shoes, whatever else is needed.

We'll see how it goes. Perhaps the chance of the universe will fall in his favour this time.
