David took them out yesterday. Looking almost like a human again and not some Walking Dead zombie. They were put in quite tightly actually, but that would've been necessary at the time. So there it is, I survive another brush with death. I wonder how many lives I've got left now?
"Brush with death" may sound overly dramatic, but essentially that's what it may well have been. It was only as the hit to the head wasn't as severe as it could have been otherwise I may very well have been on the verge of death, abandoned in the waiting room for three hours at the hands of revolting nurses.
Speaking of said revolting nurses, our social worker from ACON has now become involved in their atrocious and unprofessional behaviour that night. She's read David's complaint email and offered to advocate for us to the hospital if she's needed. She considers at the moment that the Infectious Diseases dept head will be enough but if nothing comes out of that we can discuss further with her.
My point is that such stigmatisation and discrimination shouldn't happen there. Certainly not in Sydney FFS. In 2014 FFS.
Anyway David knows the process that will happen. The Nursing Unit Manager will start throwing their weight around and there will be an investigation into what happened. The matter is of such a serious nature that he reckons it's on the cards for a nurse to lose their accreditation over it. I hope they throw the bloody book at them.
