Did a corporation kill this child? - US

This is a heartbreaking story of a 15 month old child dying at the hands of their father. The father apparently was so obsessed with his job (my take) that he forgot to drop off his son at day care, leaving his son in the car all day (31 C). He even drove twice after that, driving getting a sandwich for lunch, and after work back to the child care centre to pick up his son that he never dropped off in the first place. He found his son dead in the car at the child care centre.

Whether there's more to this story I dunno. To me it's would be impossible to do such a thing. My daughter I couldn't ever imagine doing so as she grew up. It's impossible to me that someone could forget to drop their daughter off at day care before getting coffee. It's impossible to me that someone could be so brain dead that their work had a higher priority than their own vulnerable toddler in the back seat. WTF was going on at his work that was so important? Here is his work, describes itself as "small business" (yeah right - Luxemburg anyone?) but has this reach. Small company? Bullshit.

If so, what does this indicate about our societies? What does it indicate about where Abbott is trying to take us? Where being a slave to work overtakes your parental responsibility at the most basic level? What does it say about the work that was pushing him so hard to perform for them? What does it say about the west's present capitalist thrust by the corporations to enslave workers for multi-national profits? What does it say about about the employer who will push someone to such a point? If this was the case, surely the employer themselves should also bear responsibility for this toddlers death? WTF world do these corporations want to embrace?

Has maniac capitalism killed this child? OK he might have been on drugs (I'd have to think so if his story is accurate). What was the pressure from his job that he felt he needed to do so? Who, or what events, compelled him to that point? Did the corporation provide counseling for stress deemed from his workplace?

Some excerpts from the story:
Further, Gulash said, Seitz has no criminal record, has a strong work record, has been married 13 years and lived in the state five years.

 ............

Instead of stopping at the day care, however, he went directly to Tazza Café, where he gets his morning coffee. "During the time Kyle Seitz was at Tazza Café he fully believed that he had already dropped [Benjamin] off at day care," the statement says. "As part of Kyle Seitz's routine he regularly stops for coffee after dropping [Benjamin] off at day care and before arriving at work."

.............

Seitz arrived at work between 9 and 9:15 a.m. and headed into the office. Outside, the temperature rose to a maximum of 88 degrees, according to the warrant. Seitz, according to his statement, left his office about 12:30 p.m. when his wife and two daughters dropped by for a surprise visit. They wanted him to go to lunch with them, but he said he was too busy and returned to work. About 45 minutes later, Kyle Seitz said in his statement, he got into the Jeep and drove to a Jersey Mike's to get a sandwich, then returned to the office.

................

Seitz said he was confused and began to think Benjamin had stayed home for the day, according to the statement. He began walking toward his Jeep, gradually picking up his pace until he got to the car.

 ...............

"Ben was such a beautiful little boy," Rogers-Seitz said in August. "I only got 15 months with him, but I think about the peace and happiness he gave me, and I want to find some solution so no one else has to go through this." more
