Internet awakens the masses to corporate control

I was talking to the psychologist about this recently. It can be a hard thing to put into words. The term is "Virtual Consciousness" and is a new area of study, looking at how the online world developed into it's own consciousness separated from the tradition main stream media of newspapers, broadcast TV, movies, etc. It turns out that much of these old media are under corporate control, thereby colouring the world view of those who consume them. However with new online media, and the ability for people across the world to connect with each other despite borders, there appears to be rather an awakening amongst the masses.

This has had the devastating effect of making billions of people believe that the West is an altruistic force for good in the world and that the overriding priority of the officials they vote for in elections is the citizens under their care. In order to make sense of the world, to make oneself aware of just how extreme the ‘mainstream’ now is, one needs to fully reject the narratives imposed in the corporate media, as these narratives exist for one purpose alone: to serve corporate power, an endeavor that is always antithetical to the interests of ordinary citizens. more
