Australia to US NRA - fuck off!

WTF does an insular organisation like the US NRA know about Australia? Absolutely nothing by the looks of it. But not according to them. The dumb fuck "we need more guns" NRA in the US has taken serious aim at Australia.

Looking into their wacko crystal ball, that is about as wacked out as the predictions of doom from christians over gay marriage, the NfuckinRA has launched a full frontal shirtfronting type article at Australia's gun laws, entitled appropriately for the doomsayers "There will be blood" FFS. Even going so far as to use a picture of Australia, cleverly making us into a blood stain on clothing.

They refer of course to Port Arthur massacre in 1996 (our very last mass shooting) and the dreadful happenings afterwards where there was "mass confiscation", and deny that there was "national consensus".
What occurred in Australia in 1996 was not just a stricter gun law—it was a mass confiscation. To paint it as the product of a national consensus is an insult to those Australians who were furiously opposed to being disarmed by their government. more
As usual they are talking right out of their mass asses.

First of all it wasn't a "confiscation". It was a gun buy back and amnesty whilst new gun laws were implemented. The gov paid for these guns, they didn't just take them. They gave time for them to be given up, even providing an amnesty to do so.

Secondly, there was most definitely national consensus on the issue. Indeed the public feeling after Port Arthur, PM John Howard (conservative BTW) described as "seismic". Even people who hated the whole eleven years of the Howard reign of TERROR!© (including me) will tell you that Howard's gun buy back was an historic accomplishment of both him and his gov.

The rest is just opinionated selective bla out of mass NRA asses and I won't bother, other than a quote from an Australian article about it.
As you may have gleaned, that is a big ol’ pile of cowshit and the NRA are talking out of their arses. There have been a grand total of zero (0) mass shootings in Australia since those laws were passed, compared to the dozens that have transpired in America in the same time period.

More prosaically, gun-related deaths in Australia have fallen by around 7.5 percent every year since the laws were passed, and America’s gun homicide rate was 370 times higher than Australia’s in 2010-11. Somewhat miffed at the NRA’s inexplicable omission of these facts, people have begun raising them on social media using even more swear words than I have. Read more
So go fuck yourselves NRA. signed, Australia.
