Australia an emissions "free rider" - Climate Council

It's official.

After the Abbott gov removing the perfectly good carbon trading scheme and replacing it with some looney token gesture slush fund for polluters that he named "Direct Action", Australia now is again one of the biggest carbon polluters in the world with a low emissions token gesture target. Well done Tone.

What's more if we dig up our coal to burn we'll well and truly fuck the world single handedly.

Meanwhile Tone is about mining farmland in NSW and the Galilee basin in QLD. Those two mines alone if allowed to go ahead would likely be the nail in the coffin for world climate change.

He's also proposing stopping all gov investment in those pesky dastardly evil wind farms, along with domestic rooftop solar power in his war on renewables. Locking low income earners and renters into the central grid forever and his corporate mates high electricity prices.
As Bernard Keane writes today, the energy sector donates about $2 to the Coalition for every $1 it gives to Labor. Power companies like Energy Australia, resource companies like Woodside and Santos and fuel companies like Caltex together donated just short of a million dollars to the Coalition’s state and federal divisions in 2013-14. more
Honestly, how much worse can it get with this gov? Roll on the election next year. Lizard lips is going down,
