No legs, one arm, not enough evidence for a disability card - Australia

A "Companion Card" is for disabled people who need assistance when going to evens. It allows them to buy only one ticket, with their helper getting a second ticket free. Those who qualify need to meet this criteria:
  • you have a significant and permanent disability,
  • you are always going to need a companion to help you get to community-based activities or venues,
  • and once you get there, you need your companion to help you get around or take part in the event or activity.

Meet Tracy Barrell, who was born with no legs and only one arm. She applied for a companion card and was rejected. The reason? Not enough evidence!

Looks like a case of bureaucracy gone mad. One form missing or some crap. Fucks sake.
