An interesting graphic - terror attacks and western media

It's a very simple little graphic, but far out it says it all doesn't it about the western media.

What must people in those other countries be thinking of the west's reaction to terror attacks in France as opposed to the virtual non reaction to what's happening in their countries? Are western lives somehow more valuable than theirs? Does the west not care about them?

On a deeper level, how can we as westerners empathise with victims of terror outside the west if we don't even get told about it? How can we communicate with other fellow humans on the planet undergoing such terrible crimes and help them in a way that addresses their need?

Terrorism is as much a political problem as religious. Ignoring people, inferring they don't matter, will do nothing to address their need or the growing rage within them at the west.
