The Great Pacific Garbage Patch is a massive concentration of plastic three times the size of France, Located in between California and Hawaii. There's actually five such garbage patches in the world's oceans, but this one is the biggest.
During research to find out how big it was and what sort of plastics were in it, the researchers happened across the crate on the right that was manufactured in 1977.
