Gay in public

A couple of times at the pub we've had an amusing experience.

Being a gay pub with a balcony, we usually sit out there in the day for a bit. It's in an area overlooking pedestrians strolling by. There's also tourists who come through and see the pub balcony and decide to go out onto it for a drink. The other day one particular older couple came and sat down at a table next to us.

How you can walk into a gay pub, buy a drink, and go out to the balcony seating area, and not realise you're in a gay pub is beyond me. But yes it does happen.

We kiss a lot David and I. We both have such a deep desire for each other it just feels like the thing to do. They're not just little kisses either, full on pashing at times. It's all fine and good around Taylor Square and Oxford St. So we do a bit of a pash...

The couple next to us look a bit shocked, finish the drinks and get up and leave. Everyone on the balcony notices them doing so. David says "I don't think they realised this was a gay pub". I mean I wasn't bothered by it, just thought well they must be out of their comfort zone. It was pretty funny though, they couldn't get out of the pub quick enough!

To add to their dilemma, we noticed also the beer coasters being used that day:

The one on their table was turned over. The site of a gay sex cartoon must had sent them into some kind of mild shock, let alone two blokes kissing passionately! Ha ha ha....

I thought of that when I saw this video earlier. Is very interesting. They use actors to pose as a gay family in a restaurant and have an actor play a waitress who objects to that. The results, given that much of it was done in conservative Texas, are surprising.
