"Riot", TV movie about the first Mardi gras protest parade 1978 (video)

The ABC telly drama Riot screened here the other day, about the first Mardi Gras protest parade in 1978.

You can watch it for free on iview for a couple of weeks here.

You can download the torrent here. (If you don't have a VPN you can access Limetorrents at https://unblockall.org, and search "riot")

Below is an interview with Greg Waters who wrote Riot, and Meredith Knight who is one of the 78'ers in the first march. They talk about the movie and how times have changed.

Particularly interesting to me was the fact that the filming of it took place during the hate being unleashed by the postal plebiscite last year and the effect that that had on people involved in the filming. Meredith Knight relates how it was particularly the young LGBT who were very affected by it, having not experienced such vile hatred before. I'd have to admit even I was surprised at the level it reached during those months.
