Abbott, warm and cuddly?

The Liberal party has launched into trying to improve Abbott's image. They reckon he's been given a tough time of late and want to set the record straight. This is all because of some Labor party dirt unit of course, it has absolutely nothing to do with anything Tony Abbott has said or done. And never mind his policies are from the 1950's, not only wanting to repeal the carbon tax (along with the carbon tax tax cuts I'd assume) but pretty much single handedly destroying any opportunity for this federal parliament to get anywhere near a yes vote for same sex marriage. Or that he's spent his entire time as opposition leader since the last federal election trying to undermine and destabilise the gov to force an early election, during that time becoming quite the political head kicker so to speak, resorting to inflammatory and insulting language. No, none of that has anything at all to do with his unpopularity.

It's all about women, and how much he loves them and he's not a women hater and he doesn't have a problem with women and bla bla bla...... A severe oversimplification IMO to put all his problems down to one issue. Did it ever occur to him that women might actually dislike his policies? That they might actually be brainy enough to make a rational decision about who they want to lead the country without caring about the personality flaws of the person to implement the policies they're voting for? Well, no I guess. Women don't like him the Liberal party reckons, because that evil Labor party dirt unit has been at it again with their hand bag hit squad. He's really a lovely bloke they reckon. In reality, by sucking up to women trying to point out how wonderful he is, he's insulting their ability as women to make rational judgements about his ability to be Prime Minister. Hence the media barrage last week from of the new Tony Abbott (um, well the one they reckon he's been all long).

For example:

Opposition Leader Tony Abbott is everything a woman could want in a husband "and more" according to his wife, Margie, who has leapt to her spouse's defence over claims he is sexist and has trouble dealing with women in positions of authority.

Mrs Abbott joined her husband of 24 years in a morning television appearance, saying she understood politics was a rough-and-tumble business and that to achieve success, a tough exterior was required.

"So seeing the real person is often very difficult and sitting in front of a camera is perhaps not the best opportunity to show that softer side," she said.

Ms Abbott said Mr Abbott was everything she could want in a husband and their daughters were "in love with their father".

"Tony Abbott gets women and ... the women in Tony Abbott's life certainly get him," she said. "So perhaps less of the camera and more of the women." more

Seriously, that is repulsive. Particularly coming from the man who torpedoed the marriage equality bill in parliament. How does he think that's going to make the gay community feel reading that? Not that I'd want to. But to me it's like he's junked the bill, then is trying to rub it in our faces, like look at me I'm married, happy and in love, and fuck all you pooftas. But back to the subject. How about this for warm and cuddly:

Aww, where's the teddy bear?

Well we're supposed to believe that this is the real Tony Abbott. See it was that dastardly Labor-party-dirt-unit that has destroyed his image. Probably along with a leftist socialist media out to get the poor dear. Despite this assertion however, I don't think voters are in fact so stupid as to believe the Abbott of this week as opposed to the Abbott until this week.

Alan Jones, that closet queen (who BTW has just lost his Mercedes-Benz after the company pulled the plug on his show, over him saying the PM's father died of shame of her) is close to Abbott. Here they are together at a rally outside parliament a while back, protesting about the gov's soon to be carbon tax.

Yes, brothers in arms. And note how respectful he was of the Prime Minister then?

They're not his signs though, and he didn't make them, and it wasn't his fault he addressed the gathering right smack in front of them was it. Nothing to do with his over the top exaggerated language constantly in the media before this about the gov was it. This is the Tony in the top photos, and if you think it's not it's that bloody Labor-party-dirt-unit and handbag hit squad at it again putting dear old Tony down very unfairly.
