That last one above is despicable, beyond words. Note the human skull placed to set it up for the pic, the rifle is pointing at it. Surely this depicts a military gone wild (um, not the porn version). Nothing shocks me anymore what we did to Iraq. I hold Howard just as accountable as George Bush and Tony Blair. IMO the three of them are guilty of war crimes. Australia is guilty by implication. I don't think we'll ever find out the full extent of atrocities committed against the Iraqi's, apart from the odd discovery of photos such as this.
There's this little gem too:
Col. Steve Warren, Director of Press Operations for the Dept. of Defense, tells TMZ ... the pictures appear to show U.S. soldiers in violation of the Uniform Code of Military Justice ... which makes it a crime to mishandle remains.Bla bla bla........ "Not representative"? Oh FFS. How the fuck could it be anything other than representative? They're fuckin Marines burning bodies. Photos plastered now on the internet across the world. If that's not representative I dunno WTF is.
There is no statute of limitations on the crime -- even if the soldiers are now private citizens ... they can still be prosecuted, which could land them behind bars.
Col. Warren tells TMZ, "The actions that are depicted in these photos are not in any way representative of the honorable, professional service of the 2 1/2 million service members who went to war in Iraq and Afghanistan in the last decade." Read more
