Russia to "clean up" gays - Putin

Foot in mouth Putin just can't help himself. In trying to console the West over ant-gay Russian laws at Sochi and explain them, he just digs himself in deeper and deeper. Now he's using language almost mirroring Hitler, saying Russia is to "clean up" gays for Russia's future history. Sound familiar?

“We want the Russian people and other peoples residing in the Russian Federation to develop and to have a future history. Everything that stands in our way in this regard, we must clean up but do so in modern and humane ways, without offending anyone and without turning anyone into second rate humans. It seems to me that the law that we have adopted does not hurt anyone.” more

If this was any other group the west would be completely outraged. Imagine if he said that about blacks, or Jews? Would we all be going to the Sochi money parade then? I just can't believe the west is turning up there.
