Turnbull doesn't agree with Brandis for plebiscite by end of year - marriage equality

And so it goes on. And on. And on........ Canberra political machinations on whether David and I can marry each other.

Brandis said recently that the infamous plebiscite on gay marriage would be held by years end, if the Lieberals were re-elected to office. The plebiscite that nobody wants BTW, except for a few white middle aged men in Canberra without lives.

Now Turnbull has refused to confirm even that.
The attorney general, George Brandis, has dismissed criticisms that the government’s plan to hold a plebiscite on same-sex marriage is in a shambles, saying he and Malcolm Turnbull are on the same page about when it will be held.

On Sunday, Brandis said unequivocally that the public vote would be held by the end of the year. The prime minister’s office stepped back from that, saying that it would be held “as soon as possible after an election”.

Brandis denied he and the prime minister were at odds on the $160m vote’s timing.

“I don’t think there was any disparity whatsoever. I said we want to have this by the end of the year, Mr Turnbull said he wanted it to be as soon as possible after the election. I don’t think those are inconsistent positions,” the attorney general says. The Guardian
So we have the Lieberals promising a plebiscite in the never never, and Labor promising a parliamentary vote soon after getting elected (if they do get elected). What a fuckin load of shit.

We could have marriage equality in Australia tomorrow if they voted on it in parliament, and the Lieberals were allowed a free vote. Once again the Lieberals stand in the way.

But oh yeah, Turnbull is happy to come to our Mardi Gras and party with us..... What an asshole.
