The children on Manus Island - their voice

With politics winning over compassion and human rights, the Australian gov has made it very hard for people in Australia to know what the real story is with the detention centres there for asylum seekers. GetUp has put together this very moving add.


 
It's not the hard nosed line we get from both political parties here, or from the ignorant rednecks in Australia who have the loudest voices in this. Indeed, gov and opposition policy is simply a race to the bottom, to appeal to racists and rednecks rather than human compassion. This add has the voice of a child, not nearly as loud as the cacophony of hate by small hearted Australians. 

GetUp wants to get the add on telly here to show Australians the real story that the gov doesn't want them to hear. They're asking for donations here if anyone wants to contribute. 

I'm so sick of the constant lies and demonisation of such vulnerable people. It's to Australia's great shame that this is happening to them. Not only to their parents but to the children as well. It's immoral. These people aren't criminals and neither are their children. They are however political footballs.
