How Abbott treats the sick

This is back in 2007 (the election that turfed out the Howard gov). Abbott was health minister in the Howard gov. Bernie Banton, a victim of asbestos and dying, wanted to meet with Tony Abbott to ask him to put a drug on the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme so it would be affordable to mesothelioma sufferers. Abbott didn't turn up to the meeting (it was pre-arranged) and communicated with Banton via a media swipe. He called it a "stunt" and said that just because your sick doesn't mean you're "pure of heart".

So what's the Abbott definition of "pure of heart" then? Lunching with Pell?

If this is how he treats someone with a terminal illness, how the fuck is he going to treat everyone else?
