GOP copies Abbott's asylum policy?

Either that or Abbott's copied theirs. 

This nut is making news in the US on his extremist language regarding people crossing the US border, be as they may only children. According to him these children are an invasion who are gonna take all the American's benefits. By the tone of the article it's a pretty shocking thing he wants too; being the use of warships to stop the tide of this invasion.

For Texas Congressman Louie Gohmert (R-Texas), the Border Patrol and the National Guard might not be enough to stem the flow of children that have recently created a crisis at our border. But he has an idea — war ships. 

In a speech on the House floor on Friday, Gohmert encouraged Gov. Rick Perry (R-Texas) “to use whatever means, whether it’s troops, even using ships of war.” 

Gohmert has suggested that the National Guard be used to secure the border, but his latest border policy seems to come from the belief that the United States is under an enemy invasion. 

Gohmert, repeatedly referring to the influx of child migrants as an “invasion,” said that Texas is a “state that is being invaded — in our case more than twice as many just in recent months, more than twice as many than invaded France on D-Day with a doubling of that coming en route.” 

And while the soldiers who stormed the beaches of Normandy were looking to liberate France, Gohmert believes those currently crossing the U.S. border are drawn by benefits, according to Newsmax. more

It all sounds right out of the Abbott gov/Scott Morrison asylum seeker script, just about word for word. Morrison would love this bloke, or would this bloke love Morrison? After all, Australia has already been using our warships to "stop the boats", even to the point of giving two away to the human rights abusing gov of Sri Lanka. Anything to "stop the boats". 

What's more, Abbott's already used ANZAC day to invoke some weirded out idea that stopping today's asylum seekers arriving by boat was akin to our digger's war efforts. Hey, this gov's done it all. They even have asylum seeker children in jail.
