Lieberals in support of US anti-gay hate group conference

There's a fair amount of stuff about the "World Congress of Families" (WCF) online. There's a lot of online discussion about them too in the US at least, on pro-gay sites. They're quite well known over there I believe. Theyre against just about everything including being gay. Their code word for this is in the title "Families", and in their policy description they go further by using the term "Natural Family". According to them this doesn't include gays:

The World Congress of Families believes the natural family is the fundamental unit of society; that it is the basis of all healthy and progressive civilizations. The definition of natural family comes from a working group of the World Congress of Families, crafted in May, 1998, in a Second Century B.C. room in the ancient city of Rome. It is informed both by the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (1948) and by the findings of social science. This definition reads:

The natural family is the fundamental social unit, inscribed in human nature, and centered around the voluntary union of a man and a woman in a lifelong covenant of marriage, for the purposes of........ more

Yeah there's so much that's wrong with that, but it's already been discussed over and over. Let's just say that same sex couples are found in nature and therefore are natural. 

Well it turns out the WCF is having some big conference in Melbourne next month. Gee, lucky Melbourne :s   And it turns out that this conference is popular amongst a few Lieberals. No surprise there I guess, but they are rather influential people. One of them is the Victorian Attorney General FFS.

Robert Clark will deliver the opening address at the 2014 World Congress of Families, an organisation that claims to “affirm, defend and promote the natural family as the lifelong union of man and woman through marriage, bound by faith and tradition, for the purposes of sharing love and joy [and] having children”. 

The “pro-family” organisation campaigns against childcare centres, euthanasia, divorce, pornography, gambling, legalised abortion and gay rights around the world. 

Speakers at the conference will include the WCF vice-president, Larry Jacobs, who last year applauded Russia’s ban on “gay propaganda” as a “great idea” that would “prevent [gays] from corrupting children”, and Angela Lanfranchi, a New Jersey-based surgeon who promotes a discredited theory linking breast cancer with abortion. 

The federal social services minister, Kevin Andrews, and the Victorian Liberal senator Bernie Finn will also address the conference. 

Finn ran into controversy earlier this year when he claimed abortion was being used by “many rapists and particularly paedophiles … as a way to destroy the evidence”. Federal Liberal senators Eric Abetz and Cory Bernardi are listed as supporters of the event. more
