There's one really good silver lining in this whole Centrelink drama right now. They're doing a wonderful job of fucking David's work up over this discrimination case. If there's one gov body I'd not want to have after me, it'd be Centrelink. They are relentless.
This whole latest spanner in the works is something very simple. His work lied to Centrelink saying that he had resigned. He hadn't. That caused the Sickness Allowance claim to die and they started this whole Newstart process, somehow different with a doctors certificate to cover him for not working. One of the criteria for getting Newstarve is that you have to have an Employment Separation Certificate from the ex workplace. He never got one of course, because he never resigned. This has caused huge complications for the switch over to Newstarve.
We keep telling them over and over that they won't give him one. They've given him nothing. No final payments of this and that. But they've told Centrelink in an official Centrelink call that he quit. Now Centrelink has officially sent them a letter demanding they send to Centrelink an Employment Separation Certificate for David. Centrelink allows 2 weeks if they don't send one before they "give you the benefit of the doubt".
Well now, they've really got themselves into a pickle here :)
Given that they're about to have legal action taken against them for discrimination, do they reinforce the lie they've already told Centrelink and put it into a Centrelink form? Do they say something different? If so, how does Centrelink reconcile the two versions? The conclusion would be that the company is lying.
