Unemployed $comfort collapses

Singling out a group to demonise and kick in the head will only make their lives worse. Interesting read here showing how all Australians are feeling less financially comfortable, using interactive graphs.

There's a lot of info there, but what I most noticed was the collapse in money comfort of the unemployed. I'd say that underlying the stats are mental health issues sprouting from such demonisation and head kicking (metaphorically). Some of the weakest and most vulnerable Australians are having their head fucked over by this gov. 

 And there's this:
Young people barred from taking the dole for the first six months they are unemployed would consider taking their own lives, outspoken Palmer United Party Senator Jacqui Lambie has warned. 

The proposed changes would see under 30s stopped from getting unemployment benefits for six months to encourage them to try and find a job faster, but the Senator Lambie is concerned this would have implications on the mental health of the unemployed. 

'They are losing their self-esteem and their self-respect and all it’s going to do is make these guys think about taking their own lives and [sic] won’t be responsible for that,' Ms Lambie told The Australian. Read more
