Oh what victory! We have her head!
A glorious prerequisite for the coming election! A humiliating egg on face defeat for the gov.
Bronwyn Bishop tendered her resignation as Speaker of the House to governor general Peter Cosgrove, following weeks of expenses scandals that had threatened to derail the government.Too late Tone. She should have resigned at the start, not be dragged kicking and screaming protesting her innocence.

“Regrettably, not withstanding rules that this government put in place ... there are still too many situations where members of parliament can do things that are inside entitlement, but outside public expectations,” he told reporters.

Her resignation is an admission of her guilt. Not to mention the Abbott gov's.
This could not have been handled in any worse manner. Abbott put his loyalty to a political ally above the public interest. He played politics with it. It was only when the politics got so bad that she was forced to resign. Nobody is sorry.
Whaaaaa..........
.@TonyAbbottMHR says the problem is not any particular individual, the problem is the entitlement system #auspol pic.twitter.com/9PzCVttWRm
