Perhaps it's an attempt to hose down the rapidly growing Australian horror at the Lieberal 1950's stance by Team Abbott? I dunno, but we've all heard this argument before; that there's much more important things about than marriage equality for gays.
All I can say is step in the shoes of David and I. This issue is the biggest ever. We want to marry each other, but we can't. We are both Australians.
Anyway, this issue has fully entered the main stream media and is now becoming yet another catalyst to question Abbott's captain call leadership. On that alone it has become a high order issue and a prime example of Lieberal's tin ears.
