Gays "challenge the right order of things" - Abbott 2010

This is Abbott in 2010, after that 60 Minutes interview of his when he said he felt threatened by gays. Given his latest torpedoing of the latest gay marriage bill, I hardly think his views have changed in the slightest.

So this is our Prime Minister, Abbott the homophobe. 
TONY Abbott has defended himself about feeling "threatened" by homosexuality, saying gay people challenged "the right order of things". 

As the gay and lesbian community lashed his views as "dangerous" and a sign the potential prime minister was living in a 1950s world, the Federal Opposition leader said his earlier comment had been spontaneous. 

"There is no doubt that (homosexuality) challenges, if you like, orthodox notions of the right order of things," he told ABC TV last night. 

Earlier, gay rights campaigners had raised concerns about the wellbeing of young people struggling with their sexual identity in light of Mr Abbott's views. 

Mr Abbott, a former Catholic seminarian, was asked about his views on homosexuality during an interview aired on Channel 9's 60 Minutes. 

Mr Abbott answered: "I probably feel a bit threatened, as so many people do. It's a fact of life. more
