Margaret Court says US gays in conspiracy against her - BBC

Just when we thought she was going to shut the fuck up about what she's completely ignorant about (ie. the LGBT) Court comes out with something even more outrageous than before. She's digging herself in to a pit that I don't think she's going to get out of.

First she's says no marriage equality because the bible. Then she says that lesbian tennis players are grooming younger ones in tennis. Now she's dragged the US in to her delusional biblical world, saying that US gays are in some kind of conspiracy against her, and that the money is coming from the US to get people signing petitions against her outrageous attacks on the LGBT in Australia.

Well I've got news for you dearie, we Australians sign petitions without being paid. We do so when we're outraged at the sort of toxic shit coming out of your mouth recently. Australians do not consider you as representative of our society but rather an extremist christian who doesn't deserve the media attention you're getting. In fact the only reason you're getting it is because of your tennis career many years ago, and you have a famous tennis stadium named after you.

I guess I would like to thank you again for continuing to shoot the marriage equality opponents in the foot. I think you're up to both feet by now. Thank you for furthering the cause of marriage equality by showing your bigotry, ignorance, and sheer stupidity.

"They could probably get 100,000 petitions in 24 hours because that's how they work. There's a lot of money behind it, and it's coming from America."

And asked about a possible conspiracy, she added: "Yes, I believe there is... I think the [gay] lobby, yeah."

Tennis Australia and the operator of the Margaret Court Arena, Melbourne and Olympic Parks, have distanced themselves from Court's views on gay marriage. There are currently no plans to rename the venue.

The recent furore started following Court's open letter to The West Australian, when she declared she would not fly on Qantas "where possible" in protest at its support of same-sex marriage. She then told a Christian radio station "tennis is full of lesbians".

Navratilova responded: "It is now clear exactly who Court is: an amazing tennis player, and a racist and a homophobe. BBC
