What gays think - Rudd's asylum policy

I asked this question the other day not long after Rudd announced his new policy of xenophobia with asylum seeker boat people; that those who are fleeing persecution because they're gay will now be sent to New Guinea, which is extremely gay unfriendly. How could a gov do this to the most vulnerable of people? Yet that's exactly what they're saying.

Already there have been 79 asylum seekers moved from Christmas Island to Manus Island the other day as Rudd's new policies take effect. Are there any of them now, sitting in a tent jail in New Guinea, fearing for their lives?

It's not only here in Australia that people are utterly horrified at what Rudd's come out with, but it's now attracted attention from overseas. The well known group All Out has started a petition, which last look had already about 43,000 people that have signed. It states:
To: The Australian Government

We stand with citizens across Australia who are calling on their government to stop the crackdown against asylum seekers that is placing more and more lesbian, gay, bi and trans people in danger.
We urge Australia's leaders to ensure they abide by the Geneva Convention and protect LGBT refugees by processing all asylum claims in Australia. sign here
Hmmmmm. It's not rocket science Rudd....  I love the graphic too, like something out of the US terror tactic handbook.

It is good to know that people overseas are starting to notice the bullshit that's been going on in this country over asylum seekers for years. Now both sides have sunk so low in a bid to outdo each other, that we have serious criticisms coming from groups that nobody ever thought would be directed at a country like Australia. All Out is a very well known LGBT group of decades. Amnesty International FFS. What happened to our stupid pollies down here?
