Gov attacks aged pensioners spending habits

As if it's not enough to try and clobber pensioners with a doctor tax and blood tax, now the gov is pumping up the anti-pensioner rhetoric. Likely they're trying to regain some ground after today's polls by trying to further demonise pensioners as greedy money bags rolling in it, with their hands out for the pension. Now he's attacking old age pensioners, saying they blow their super money on expensive cruises then want the gov pension. What despicable politics. Using pensioners as a political tool.

Nobody's buying it. There is no comparison to pensioners and the likes of Rinehart. If this is supposed to shore up polling it just shows how completely out of touch this gov is with not only pensioners, but those in the community who know better. It will have the reverse effect. Open mouth, insert foot. Enter deputy PM Warren Truss.....
He then went on to say some pensioners enjoyed a lifestyle that included overseas trips funded by superannuation. "Increasingly the lifestyle - and the savings for superannuation - are being seen as the opportunity to enjoy a few cruises and the luxuries of life for a few years until it runs out and then people wish to fall back on the aged pension."

Queensland president of the Australian Pensioners and Superannuation League, Ray Ferguson, completely rejected Mr Truss's comments, saying they were "out of touch". Read more
Yes darlings, all us pensioners are utter spendthrifts out to support our spending habit by devising a dastardly plan to rip off the gov. OMG they're onto us!
