To make life easier for those particularly who live in rural areas not close to a hospital pharmacy, HIV meds will now be available at normal local pharmacies if they chose to do so. This doesn't mean you have to stop how you get them now if you're happy with that.
As there are a number of issues involved and as it's only a bus trip to the Albion St Centre, I myself have chosen to leave my arrangements unchanged and continue to pick them up from there.
Some of the issues that have come up in discussions about this are training of pharmacy staff on HIV and HIV meds. Privacy issues around that. Even if you have the gumption to ask your pharmacist if they will be taking part in the program.
