In frustration with the political system and how it wasn't representative of Australians views on marriage equality, GetUp made this video and put it on YouTube way back in 2011. For a time it was the most trending video on YouTube in the world.
Three and a half years later the political impass has remained and we're still waiting. Abbott even annulled Canberra same sex marriages via the courts only hours after they were married a while back.
Surely now, after Ireland, it's finally and belatedly time.
