The View's shameful interview with Danny Pintauro about HIV

What a vile, disgusting, ignorant, blaming and shaming interview it was on The View, with Danny Pintauro and his recently coming out to the world about his HIV status. This interview will only further stigmatise people with HIV and do absolutely nothing to educate the mainstream about HIV. I'm utterly and completely appalled.

Here's one of the ignorant questions:

“I want to know, do you take responsibility for your actions? For being promiscuous, going into a lifestyle of having heightened sex because of the meth that you were using? I want to know what the message is. Because you want to be the face of HIV, to give that a face. But what is the message that you have? What does that mean?” 

Fucks sake.  A few fuckin basic facts bitch.

Firstly, you don't need to be promiscuous to get HIV. One time can do it. HIV doesn't discriminate and give itself only to ice using promiscuous people, it gives itself to everyone where the opportunity arises. People are the only ones who discriminate. Danny didn't deserve HIV any more than anyone else. To blame someone, or to even hint at blame, is vile. Sadly it happens. It happened to me after I was diagnosed. My regular "family" doctor blamed me for getting it. I walked out and have never seen her since.

Yes, Danny is now one of many faces of HIV. He's a human being who has a virus. He doesn't have horns coming out of his head, he's not icky HIV+, he has a disease and is dealing with it. HIV people deserve to be treated as human beings just like everyone else.

Sometimes people, including me, go through very hard times in life or get involved in the wrong things. Life happens. You can't blame someone for things that happen to them. You can help them as a human being though to patch things up.

Other stuff about the interview. You cannot "get AIDS" FFS. I get so fuckin pissed off when I hear that shit. You catch the virus HIV. AIDS is a condition that can develop over time if you're not on meds, you're immune system weakens, and you get an AIDS defining illness. Oh the fuckin ignorance!

And WTF is the bitch asking about the sex life of the two men? Seriously? It's no fuckin business of her's. Imagine if she was asked if she used condoms during sex? Or who "gives it"? That was just way out of line. Their sex life is their own business discussed between themselves. 

BTW it's been proven by research that when you're on meds and your HIV viral load is undetectable then it's just about impossible to pass on the virus. *sheesh*

I'm surprised Danny didn't pull the two of them up on these things. I guess he needs to do some research himself.
