Abbott gov wants to raid our super!

WTF? This shit is getting beyond belief. Now, the treasurer sloppy Joe (Hockey) is putting forward the brilliant idea of using our super funds to invest in Australia instead of the gov spending it's own funds to do so:
TREASURER Joe Hockey wants the savings of Australian mums and dads used to build the big projects governments can no longer finance because they are broke.

He today outlined an economic plan based on government abandoning many investment areas and handing them over to private enterprise along with a guarantee of a return on investments.

Mr Hockey urged workers to get their wealthy superannuation funds to pour cash into areas which traditionally have been the monopoly of state and federal governments.

The Treasurer was responding to the six per cent unemployment figure for January — the highest level in a decade — which he said could not be lowered unless the economy was more productive.

“Australia needs to get back to (economic) growth rate of three per cent and beyond to address the rising unemployment rate,” said Mr Hockey. The current growth rate is about 2.8 per cent.

And he said the Government had a strategy to do this.

Last night Mr Hockey revealed he hoped to raise $130 billion from privatisation of state and federal assets. The Commonwealth will offer Medibank Private for sale but today Mr Hockey would not speculate on other sell-offs. more
This is bullshit man. For many Australians, me included, our superannuation funds are the only thing we have. Squeezed out of the property market we've had to live week by week paying high Australian rents. Personally what's left of my super is my only asset left. The whole purpose of the gov setting up these scheme years ago was so they wouldn't have to pay so much in pensions down the track. Indeed the money in Australia's super funds is the envy of the world.

Now the gov wants to get it's bloody greedy fingers on something that's working fine. And for what? Because the gov in inventing some imaginary problem of state gov's being "broke". What a fuckin load of shit. So what are they gonna do with all the taxes that would have paid for these gov investments in the past then? Hand out more mega-rich welfare?

Hmmmmm.... Perhaps they'll simply do a Howard? Put people through 3 years of poverty, then go "surprise" at the election time budget and proceed to hand out $billions targeted at their electoral vulnerabilities; in essence, buy votes. At the same time lauding their economic prowess at being able to be Santa Claus just before election time. Same script as Howard.

My view under Howard was "Well why didn't you do this three years ago instead of making me live in poverty?". Pfffft.
