David got the job! - over 100 applicants!

OMG, the horror year is ending on a high note!

David got rung earlier to be told his application was successful. The first job he applied for after all the drama and angst of the discrimination from his last work. Long time readers of this blog will know all too well what we've been through this year. Indeed a year of hell.

It was through the support provided for his mental recovery and through work programs to prepare him to go back to work (BTW said service is being chopped by Abbott in May and outsourced). People don't realise the damage that discrimination can and does do.

It was not only the first job he applied for but also a job with over 100 other people applying for it. It's also in rehab, which is his passion.

Not only that, he's got another job ringing him constantly and he's going to look at that this afternoon. They both start as part time so he could do shifts at both to start off with. I said to go to the second job interview simply out of courtesy and offer to help them part time for a while at least. Maybe he'll like that one better, who knows.
