Queensland Premier Campbell Newman faces the prospect of a one-term reign as a new poll puts former Ashgrove MP Kate Jones ahead 55-45 on a two-party preferred basis.Reminds me a bit of when John Howard lost his own seat in his last federal election in 2007. He was the first PM to have that happen to him since the 1920's. The Lieberals appear to think that just because things like this haven't happened in recent decades across Australia then it won't happen now :s
A ReachTEL poll of voters commissioned by The Sunday Mail and Channel Seven also put Labor candidate Ms Jones ahead of Mr Newman when it came to first preference votes in the inner Brisbane electorate - 47.9 per cent to 40.7 per cent. more
I'm sure lovers of the Great Barrier Reef will find this polling immensely satisfying :)
