What a bad day yesterday was. The spewing got worse and worse in the afternoon, and the pain in my stomach. David was getting really worried because he thought it may have something to do with my kidneys again. In the end I was throwing up whatever was left in my stomach, tears running down my face from the pain, David patting my back worried, I said "I think it's time for the ambulance darling". The stomach acid had burnt my throat on top of everything else and I was starting to hyperventilate from the stress and pain of it all.
So David rings the ambulance and comes in the bedroom with me. I know how upsetting it can be ringing an ambulance for a loved one and this time was no exception. He huged me and started crying. I really get that. They came promptly and gave an injection in the arm to settle down the vomiting, and said that with my complicated medical history it would be best if I went in to Emergency.
Got there and they took blood after putting me in a bed and giving morphine for all the pain I was having. It wasn't too long and the first results were coming back; my kidneys were OK. Whew, breathed a sigh of relief there. David stayed home as I said he should get some sleep, so I texted him the good news. He'd already rung me a couple of times. Was so worried. So I updated things as they went by texting him as he slept.
In the end they couldn't find anything major wrong. They reckoned it was a massive stomach reflux thing and gave me some new pills. Oh joy! More pills! And I have to follow it up with my GP. They're only tiny little pills but I'm supposed to take one every day so I'm going to have to sort out more prescriptions for them.
Today we're both a bit stunned. I just can't believe how strong the pain was just from stomach acid. It was everything else it affected. The whole top half of my body was in intense pain, even the morphine didn't take away the back pain.
