CNN reports really wrong on Abbott leadership challenge

CNN has totally fucked up on it's report on the Abbott leadership challenge. Why am I not surprised? US media generally makes just a token gesture at reporting from other countries. Even their "world news" is mostly just internal US stuff.

So in keeping with that we get this bullshit from CNN:
The most recent survey by Newspoll -- as of September 7 -- shows voters are split between the two major parties, though respondents said Shorten would make a better leader than Abbott.

Until Monday, Turnbull was the country's popular communication minister, someone seen by many as a potential leader, if only he'd put up his hand. more
WT fuckin fuck? What incredibly sloppy reporting.

Newspoll has had a bazillion Newpolls in a row where Abbott didn't win a single one. The latest one linked has the two party preferred at a devastating 54/46 to Labor. CNN doesn't even seem to bother to even try and understand the Australian electoral system and simply look at the primary vote.

For the US CNN ignorants, the prefernce system works like this. A minor party such as the Greens will give their votes to a party that they prefer. These are called preferences. When voting you can preference yourself on the ballot usurping any preference deal agreed to before the election by said two parties. Generally however the Green's preferences go to Labor.

Note in the image the preferences in the 54/46 poll linked to in the CNN article. They are based on the 2013 election and how people peferenced then. I can guarantee that people won't preference to the Lieberals in the next election anywhere near so generously. Therefore the two party preferred is likely much worse for the Lieberals than 54/46.

Also, Turnbull as communications minister is about as popular as a cat turd in a litter box. He has overseen the Australian National Broadband Network rollout falling to nearly 60th in the world for speed and double the price of what the Liberals promised at the 2013 election. They haven't even started building it where I am in the middle of fuckin Sydney.

Fuck you CNN. You are a mob of lazy hopeless reporters who can't be bothered. But what does it matter eh? You only want us to go to war in Syria.....
