It's been a bit of a rough ride but it looks like a conclusion will be reached with David's work and the discrimination and stigmatising that happened there. Not a moment too soon I think as he's had zero money for about two weeks now. Been fucked around by an auction house where he sold an item worth some money but he's still waiting for the cheque to come two weeks after the thing was sold. I'm not good with money these days as long time blog readers would know, but it seems that I'm going through rather a lot of it and the credit card is getting a workout. Of course this isn't his fault at all, and he's been so stressed about not having anything to pay for anything. Which stresses me to see him going through that and there's very little I can do about it.
Anyway he was contacted by the solicitor yesterday after I sent them an email on his behalf asking what the situation was. Turns out his phone is so old it somehow put itself on silent for some reason and they'd been trying to ring him for days. They're near finished negotiating with his work. The management is all supportive of David and want to let him work there (on another ward) for three months as a permanent casual, and then transfer him to the hospital near where we live, which is what he wanted. They want to give him the three months of work as they don't want it to look like they're just transferring him to get rid of him. I thought that was really nice of them. They do care about David, he's well respected and well liked there apart from the bullshit that went on with some of the nurses. They've also agreed to backpay him for the time missed at work in dealing with the whole issue.
Needless to say he's not going back to the ward where it happened. Completely understandable. He was treated so wrongly and unfairly by those nurses. I hope a head or two has rolled over this, not holding my breath though. I guess he'll find out when he turns up at the hospital next.
